An idea is born
The idea of Cinders Cleaners began out of frustration in trying to find a reliable, reasonably priced cleaner in my local area. I couldn't believe how hard it was. When I returned to work following my maternity leave it was under the premise that I would have the help of a cleaner at home just for a couple of hours a week. I was working in a demanding role for a global company as a HR manager in addition to trying to be the enthusiastic mummy I wanted to be to my two young boys.
14 months later and I was today's version of Cinderella, still trying to balance being a mum with a job and making the home the place of solace it should be.
The stop point came when I asked my eldest son what he was going to get me for Christmas. "Mummy, I'm going to get you a little helper to do all your adult things so we could spend more time together, all you do is clean work clean mummy."
He was right, and that was the wake up call I needed. I tried sourcing independent cleaners who would let me down on the day or just not show up. I tried companies who wanted to tie me into long contracts and charge me admin fees to sign to sign up or to cancel if I wasn't happy. Even when they weren't providing a reliable service, I still couldn't cancel without a charge and if I didn't pay it was passed to a credit agency. Something that was supposed to make my life easier created more stress and frustration .
I was so close to being defeated but instead I used my HR skills to create a company that kept it simple for clients, created a positive working environment for cleaners who were paid fairly and offered development opportunities. The result........
Cinders cleaners was born
