I have always been a highly organised problem solver with a head for numbers and I was already doing bookkeeping work for a few of my friends and family members, so when I found myself as a single mother with a young baby, I needed to work but wanted to be able to work from home if necessary and have the freedom and flexibility to raise my child. My bookkeeping business has provided me with this for over 20 years now and the fit was perfect.

Both my bookkeeping skills and interpersonal skills are excellent and versatile and I understand the different ways that many kinds of businesses work and what systems and processes are going to fit each individual. Many of my clients have stayed with me for over 10 years, and only move on by natural process or perhaps due to a change in circumstances.
I have many clients I work for remotely and some I visit. I have recently finished working with a client that has been with me for nearly 10 years, and the only reason we sadly had to agree to move their day to day finance processes in house was because the company had been so successful, it had become too large for me to continue working and managing on a remote basis. Although I was offered a permanent position with the company as a finance director, it would've meant giving up my business, which obviously I didn't want to do.
