Over the past two years, working with Jon has been nothing short of transformative for me as an athlete. When I first started, I couldn’t swim more than 1500 meters, had never ridden a road bike, and my running experience was limited to just two marathons. Fast forward to now, and I’ve completed Ironman Wales, one of the most challenging courses out there, and I was on track to finish Ironman Barcelona in under 12 hours before an unfortunate injury forced me to pull out during the run.

Jon has been the driving force behind this incredible journey. His expertise, encouragement, and ability to tailor training plans to my needs and goals have been remarkable. He broke down what seemed like an insurmountable task into manageable steps, helping me build confidence in each discipline of triathlon.

Swimming went from being my weakest discipline to a strength, thanks to his technical guidance and structured sessions. On the bike, Jon helped me develop the endurance and power necessary for long-distance events, starting from absolute scratch. His run training plans balanced performance with injury prevention—even though I faced setbacks, his support and adjustments kept me motivated and progressing.

Beyond the physical training, Jon has been a mentor in mindset and preparation. He taught me how to stay focused, adapt to challenges, and trust the process. The camaraderie and dedication he brings to coaching have made this journey not only successful but also incredibly enjoyable.

I've spent the last three years with @tricoachjo_ training camps in Majorca and really pleased that Jon’s coaching has helped me to complete my second successive Ironmnan Wales challenge!

The March camps have been amazing - sunshine, great company and a fantastic training environment. Jon structures the week to take into consideration the prep. needed to confidently attack the Ironman build up. Jon is a truly awesome coach he gives you the level of support you want so if you are not that experienced and need some more advice he will be there but if you just need some guidance along the way he can tailor his help to suit , he always contactable to speak to and always at the end of a phone if you want to scream , shout and moan about how bad you think you are ( which with Jon's help you probably aren't) he gets results I started doing sprint triathlons as a newbie and now I've just completed ironman wales along with many other half distance triathlons, sportive and marathons, this guy knows his onions , I'm still with him because I can't think of training without him

I first got in touch with Jon back at the end for 2023 when I was in a rut with my training. After some time think what I wanted to do I concluded with an aim to attempt my first Ironman Triathlon.

Got in touch with and chatted with Jon on the phone and discussed the aim for Ironman Emilia-Romagna 2024!

His laid back & relaxed approach to training made me instantly feel comfortable with him.

Throughout my whole training block Jon’s advice, sessions and attention to details for the client’s individual needs have been second to none! Because of his training methods and knowledge in the game it has allowed me to be at my highest possible level of fitness thus allow me to enjoy the Ironman as much as possible.

In a nutshell I would highly recommend to anyone on how they should sign up for an Ironman event but even more so I would recommend putting your trust in Jon to help get you to the finish line!

I enjoyed a fantastic week of highly personalised training with Jon, tapping into his wealth of experience ahead of tackling IM Barcelona in October. Mallorca was the perfect backdrop for an intense 20 hour training week and I left having received a real fitness boost and super motivated for the challenge ahead. A few highlights: - Bike: Jon has excellent knowledge of the island and planned a series of challenging but scenic rides ranging from 100 - 160km. He tailored these to my race profile and provided a number of pointers ranging from riding technique to heart rate control, delivered alongside a number of great life stories that made the rides even more enjoyable! - Swim: This was an area where I felt like Jon really added value. His video analysis was incredibly helpful, identifying a number of areas for improvement and then prescribing a series of drills to work on them. We trained at a fantastic 50m facility and also had the opportunity to do a few open water sea swims where Jon again offered a number of race tips based on his experience. - Run: I had the opportunity to do a brick run after each of our rides. Tough in the heat but Jon taught me a lot about the benefit of planning nutrition / hydration ahead of the run off to help manage heart rate on the run. - Nutrition: In addition to providing all of the necessary nutrition / supplements to fuel our rides, Jon taught me a huge amount about race planning and recovery and this was an area where he really opened my eyes to the benefits these bring. - Race planning: Jon took time at the start of the week to sit down with me and help plan our training to fit my race profile. I left feeling far more prepared about when and how to hydrate and take on nutrition and he also had a number of war stories to share from his own experience and tips on what to do / not do on race day…! All in all a really enjoyable week in the perfect surroundings and with great company - would recommend to others looking for a fitness boost ahead of race day. More...

I am so pleased that I found Jon and that he agreed to coach me even though I live in Germany and am not actually planning to compete. Jon is a real expert in the field but also super flexible and adapts his coaching style and plan to my needs.
II thought I was condemned to just getting by, and being on a never ending plateau: I had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which for me means that my energy is limited and there’s always a risk of days or weeks of fatigue if I overdo it. But Jon found a way to push me without pushing me, if that makes sense, and I can see improvements in my technique, speed, and even joy I feel while exercising!
I don’t run anymore, so Jon is looking at my swimming and cycling technique and sets, helping me understand the science behind it as well as making sure I am doing sets that improve my metrics, with positive results through the bank! I would never have thought that non-competitive exercise can be that much fun!

Stupidly I decided my first ever triathlon would be Ironman wales. I entered with no experience. I tried a couple of cheaper coaches out prior to Jon however they did not work out for different reasons however you clearly get what you pay for. Jon has been very attentive, replies almost instantly and adjusted my plan (many times) when I came to him with any slight niggles/fatigue/work commitments and the many days of struggles I faced during this. definitely worth the investment and wouldn’t have completed this without him!! You simply can't out train a bad diet, you can't treat yourself every day and expect to see results.

Helping people achieve levels of fitness they never knew they could achieve and helping people lose weight with eating real food and not fad diets.

My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis and she is my inspiration for everything, if my fitness endeavours motivates anyone else, above and beyond those who I love dearly, then it must be a good thing.

Personally after a back injury I lost 7 stone in 1 year, I've kept it off now for 13 years, having travelled that journey myself, I know what it's like and what you go through, it is a massive benefit to be able to coach from experience. Now I enjoy Ironman triathlons, it's a way of life, allows me to keep fit and to educate and coach others. Believe in yourself, anything is possible.

I only coach highly motivated people, if you are motivated to achieve then contact me through my website and let's talk about your ambitions.

Primarily my athletes are spread all over the country, I like to conduct a 1:1 assessment to establish your Swim, Bike, Run styles and form assisted by the INCUS Nova device. This industry leading device gives feedback to athletes of ALL levels.

Then, each Sunday, I design your training for the following week. I review what you've done, take into consideration your availability for the coming week, and design a bespoke training plan with all aspects considered. I also have local athletes who I work with on 1:1 sessions each week, the frequency is down to you.

All 1-2-1 sessions are conducted with athletes safety as an overriding factor. Current temperature taken, a conversation as to experiencing any signs or symptoms of feeling unwell, and a sensible decision for all to consider proceeding. Resting Heart Rate being a primary observation to explore if the body is working overtime to fight any internal virus etc.
Basal Heart Rate should be taken on any day where a 1-2-1 session is scheduled.

As a triathlon coach, endurance is a fundamental part of the programme, if you'd like to achieve your endurance goals, then I can help you.

Running a marathon, I have a programme and nutrition plan to support your training and help you enjoy the race day experience.

Advice on nutrition, hydration - before, during and after your event and throughout your training, all to ensure you enjoy the journey.

During the test, you will be lying in a chair, in a comfortable environment, and breathing into a tube that is connected to a computer. The computer captures and analyzes the composition of your breath, determining your oxygen consumption, to measure the rate at which you consume energy. That produces your RMR.

Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is the amount of energy (calories) your body burns while at rest. It is one of three components of your total metabolic rate, comprising of 70 percent of your body's daily energy expenditure. The RMR test is a simple, non-invasive test that determines your RMR.

The VO2Max test is a simple exercise test performed on a treadmill or bike, where the speed or resistance increases every minute until you can't exercise any longer.

The test lasts typically between 10-15mins depending on your fitness level.

Your VO2 max is a number worth knowing. Defined as the maximal volume of oxygen you can use, measured in milliliters per kilogram of body weight per minute (ml/kg/min), your VO2 max can tell you a great deal about your health, but it can also serve as a key measure of fitness level.

Your personal VO2 max gives the sports coach the EXACT zones for you, removing all guess work, it shortens the time frame to athletic performance goals by targeting your body's exact limit points when encompassed with a scientifically designed training plan for your race goals.

The list is extensive and so each session can be tailored to your individual needs and will correlate to helping enhance efficiency, improve performance and ensure safety.

As the good weather continues and therefore more of us are Open Water Swimming than pool swimming, and why not!

Therefore I am happy to offer my coaching services on a 1:1 basis at an Open Water facility near you. I come fully qualified and insured and bring a wealth of knowledge from coaching an array of individuals on my Mallorca Triathlon Training Camps.

Cold water entry & familiarisation, methods of donning and removing a wetsuit, various methods for sighting, sighting and breathing, buoy turns etc as well as body position, rotation and propulsion.

Swim Video Analysis & Technique Correction
