I advise potential customers to exercise extreme caution before engaging with this company. A salesperson visited my rental property, and we agreed on a price for a new window i. I paid a £455 deposit The problem arose when it came to the follow-up. I was explicitly told on two separate occasions that someone would contact me to perform the necessary official measurements but was told he was getting married. After 45 days of nothing I said I am cancelling trhe contract. The director refused to give my £455 back citing marketing and sales costs. They had not started making the window! More...

In over 30 years, with thousands of installations, this is A FIRST!! The customer placed an order end of November for a January installation. He was informed immediately our surveyor was getting married. Like a lot of companies, we close for best part of a couple of weeks over Christmas. We came back to work on Monday 5th. We called him before 9am with a view to progressing his order with an expected installation mid January, as originally agreed. The customer said he wanted to cancel his order and have his deposit back. After the 14 day cooling off period the company experiences sales and marketing costs and in this instance have incurred more costs than the deposit received. Something is not right, we have never had a customer not wanting to proceed within the quoted installation time frame. My thoughts are, as he has work going on at his rental property and as the job requires a certain amount of building work, he since has given the job to someone else. I must point out, OHI operates a Zero abuse policy and in this instance, the customer was extremely rude and we had to stop communicating with him verbally. I am surprised he is trying to hurt a very reputable company with negative feedback.

We would like to commend Oxfordshire Home Improvements for coming to our rescue with regard to an emergency window repair during the Coronavirus lockdown, and for going the extra mile in terms of help and advice, including putting us in touch with another local person with particular expertise.

What do you love most about your job?
As the company representantive and adviser for our customers, what I love most about my job, is making contact with new customers, understanding their goals and helping them achieve their home improvement ideals. To make the home more secure and most importantly increasing the thermal efficiency to ultimately make their environment perfect.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The inspiration to start this business, over 25 year ago, was my background experience in working for other companies and understanding where we could offer a better, and more tailored service, more in line with our customers' needs. We formed Oxfordshire Home Improvements in 1999 and have been fully dedicated to fulfilling all our customers needs ever since. Of paramount importance, for us and our clientele, is our post-installation customer care and honouring the 10 year, insurance backed guarantee.
