Karl Schunmann .
I went through this company to apply for Deputyship earlier this year, see previous review. I ended up doing it myself online, sending forms back and forth by post was ridiculous. Unfortunately I did this after paying for a service which was long winded, inefficient and unnecessary. I have now been given Deputyship. If you can do it yourself online, this company was a waste of time. More...

Excellent price. We had a POA done for my mum and my husband and I got one done at around the same time with a special offer. So much cheaper than the other quotes we had. Done over the telephone which was really convenient and easy. Very pleased. Jeff was our consultant and was very helpful. Good customer service easy to get hold of someone if you need to. More...

I would urge potential clients to think very carefully before instructing MWQ Estate Planning. In 2025 my wife and I paid £2,795 in full for a “Full Protection Package” of three services: a Lasting Power of Attorney, an Asset Protection Trust Plus Deed, and Legal Mirror Wills. Over a year later, only the LPOA has been delivered. The Trust and the Wills remain outstanding to this day. Most concerning of all, MWQ issued us a “Completion of Service” letter stating the work was finished, when in fact two of the three contracted services had never been carried out. I leave others to draw their own conclusions about that. Throughout, communication was extremely poor. Over twelve months I chased repeatedly by phone, email and text. Promised call-backs did not happen, and clear timelines were never given. When I finally submitted a formal complaint, my email was ignored entirely, and the only response to my follow-up letter was a one-line reply passing the matter to the very person the complaint was about. We have since escalated the matter to the relevant regulatory and consumer bodies. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this firm. More...

Darren was up front about the costs and the process. (A lot of this industry appears to be geared towards vagueness and pressure selling). He was true to his word - the call was professional. I was guided through the process and the whole thing was sorted out in no time at all. There's a bit of admin to get the docs properly filed...but I was super happy to have found this company and this individual to support me with this. More...

On the 24/03/2026 I entrusted MWQ to secure a Deputyship LPA for my bed ridden wife by credit card over the phone. The man who spoke to me on the phone was very accommodating and helpful. By the 27/03/26 I realised that what I had been told by the firm, ' This can take as long as nine months,' was not helpful, considering my wife is in an advanced state of dementia, so I cancelled the contract by text as I could be spending £2000 for nothing if she died before time ran out. Also, I had not returned their cancellation form which states that refunds are paid by bankers draft. On the 13/04/26 and the 15/04/26, I did not receive call backs though they were promised. On the 20/03/26, after enquiry, I was told to send my bank details. I was told that the refund could take 5-7 days. [Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 solicitors are duty bound to refund money promptly and within 14 days of notice of cancellation and through the same means by which it was originally made] 21/04/26, I asked for the repayment to be made by card. 28/04/26, I wrote, asking for my refund. 28/04/26, I received a call saying the payment would be with me by Friday 01/05/26. 01/05/26,no money had been sent, so I wrote declaring that I would like to use their complaint system. 01/05/26, 'a payment in full was made into my bank today, but it might take 2-5 days to show,' they advised. 03/05/26, I am writing this altogether unsure whether anything will be done. I have learnt during this process that firms have to pay for cancellations. If I had known that-yes, I would have given greater consideration initially, to starting the contract, but the service has been abysmal. 05/05/26 A full refund was made into my bank account. More...

I recently completed my Lasting Power of Attorney with MWQ Estate Planning, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received. From my very first phone call, Darren provided clear, reassuring advice that immediately put me at ease. This was followed up with prompt and helpful emails from the legal team, who guided me through each step of the process. I’ll admit I was initially a bit dubious, especially as I live in Darlington and the firm is based in Manchester, but I needn’t have worried. Everything was handled smoothly, efficiently, and without any complications. The entire process was completed in a timely manner, and the professionalism and communication throughout were excellent. I would highly recommend MWQ Estate Planning to anyone considering arranging their Lasting Power of Attorney. – Joanne Griffiths More...

Last Will and Testament
Most of us don´t have one, in fact two thirds of the population in England and Wales don’t currently have a valid Will in place. Making a Will is the ONLY way to ensure that your wishes are carried out after you pass away. If you don’t make a valid Will, your property will pass under the Law of Intestacy which may not be what you want and is likely to take longer to finalise. During the time after you pass away your beneficiaries may not be able to draw money from your estate and deal with your estate which can cause distress to your loved ones. A Will can benefit everyone regardless of your situation, whether you are single, married, a parent or retired, creating or updating your Will is something that you should consider doing. We create take you through the process of creating or updating your Will step by step, providing you with best advice, and creating supporting documents where necessary to solidify your intentions regarding your wishes.
Lasting Power of Attorney
Creating Lasting Power of Attorney means that your loved ones can deal with financial affairs and/or healthcare decisions on your behalf in the event that you lose capacity or are unable to make these decisions for yourself. Did you know that one person in the UK develops Dementia every three minutes, but their loved ones aren’t allowed to just walk into the bank to access money, even if it is to pay for your care. Even Martin Lewis OBE has said that creating Lasting Power of Attorney is incredibly important. By setting up these two legal documents, you allow a loved one or trusted friend to deal with your bills, bank accounts and property or to make decisions about life sustaining treatment, care arrangements or decisions about how you live your life. The alternative to setting up Power of Attorney is for your family to apply to the courts for Deputyship to be able to make these decisions for you once you have lost capacity and this process can be long, stressful and expensive. Whilst Deputyship applications are a service we do provide, we would always recommend setting up Power of Attorney whilst you have capacity as it will save you and your family time, money and a lot of unnecessary stress at a time. Setting up Power of Attorney gives you protection so that you know in the unfortunate event that you do lose capacity, your affairs will be in order and your wishes will be carried out during your lifetime.
Trusts
Trusts can be used as part of your Estate Planning to protect your assets and can be set up on death in the Will or during your lifetime. Trusts are normally created to protect the property as this is often the biggest asset. Trusts set up for the property have a great number of benefits including protecting your children from disinheritance, ensuring that your property is managed well, ensure that loved ones are protected and keep a roof over their head after you pass and to protect it from third parties. We work on best advice and look at each individual situation to provide a trust solution best suited to you and what you are looking to achieve.
Probate Assistance
When a loved one passes away, it is a very emotional time and we appreciate that there is a lot that you need to deal with. This is why we offer a service to help you with some of the legal matters that you need to deal with. The service we provide is to assist you with obtaining a grant of probate or the letters of administration depending on whether or not your loved one left a Will. By getting this documents from the courts, you are given permission to deal with their assets. It is important to go through this process as it ensures that there are no problems for you and others in the future and that all assets can be dealt with officially.
Court of Deputyship Assistance
In the event that your loved one did not create a Lasting Power of Attorney during a time when they had capacity to do so, you may need to apply for Deputyship to be able to assist them with matters relating to both finances and healthcare decisions. We are here to help you through the initial process of preparing an application to the courts. We want to be able to help you get the wheels in motion and get you on the way to being able to help your loved one. The process of obtaining Deputyship is a long one and can be very stressful as you may be asked to attend court hearings to confirm your intentions. By starting the process in the right way, it will make the overall journey much smoother. Although we do really hope that Power of Attorney is set up, we are here to help if it hasn´t.
Safe Storage of Legal Documents
We offer lifetime storage for to protect your legal documents. You may, understandably, think that storing your documents are safe at home. But what happens should the worst happen such as fire, burglary or flood? Your documents will be stored in an underground professional storage facility which protects your documents through temperature and humidity control, protection against flooding and fire, bar coded registration for easy retrieval, monitored by CCTV and limited access by staff enforced by secure entry. As part of the offer, we will also register any Will that you chose to store, with The National Will Register, a UK wide database and is the first place any legal professional will check should an Executor not be able to locate the Will. This would usually come as an additional cost but we absorb this cost for you as our valued customer.
