Yes. To carry out commercial work in the UK an operator is required to hold a PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operation). Take Off Photography operators are experienced licensed pilots and have thorough knowledge of UK regulations.

No. For safety reasons some UK locations are inaccessible such as airports or military installations. It maybe possible to fly in these locations though they require special permission in advance of filming.

What is the range of the aircraft?

Drones technically aren’t limited on distance, this is generally limited to flight time. UK regulations state operators must fly within visual line of sight (VLOS) of the aircraft, in general terms this is 500m horizontally and 400ft vertically from the pilot.

Yes. As with any motor vehicle things can go wrong. Our equipment is fitted with the latest fail save systems including battery alerts, object warnings and return to home functions in case there’s a loss of signal. Take Off Photography pilots are trained how to handle emergency situations and as part of initial site assessment and site survey we carry out a thorough risk assessment. Our pilots will not fly if they consider a member of the public or team member will be in danger.

Do you operate outside of the UK?

Yes. When operating outside the UK we are bound by the regulations of that Countries authorities and we may require a greater lead in time to complete all necessary documentation to fly legally.

Are you able to provide post production and film editing?

Yes. Take Off Photography can provide you with a whole package including film direction, cameramen, pilots and post-production.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

We are able to offer most services remote services utilise video calls (if necessary). Usually piloting a drone is done alone therefore we're able to complex most services from start to finish without coming in to physical contact with out customers.

We are able to utilise video calling to discuss aspects of projects rather than face to face. We wash our hands and equipment more often to ensure the opportunity to spread Covid is highly reduced.
