I am not happy with technician visit as he himself mentioned that he is not using a mattress to sleep then how come he can check my mattresses comfort i need re-check of my mattresses And he didn’t not even completed the mattresses compression check from all four sides show completed from one side he said its not as per Simba requirements i need a re-inspection with a proper technician

This company has given an appalling service and tried to rip my elderly mother off. I contacted them and told them the chair needed a replacement remote control which I sent them the details of. They insisted that we had to pay £84 for an engineer to come and evaluate the problem. He came, looked at the remote and confirmed it needed replacing (It just unplugs from the end of the cable). Later that day my mum received a quote for £220+ vat for a replacement remote! I booked an inspection appointment with Emmiera Group a month ago and arranged to take a day off work specifically for this appointment. On the day of the inspection, I received a cancellation email with no prior notice. This caused significant inconvenience and disruption to my schedule.I respect that unexpected issues can arise, but cancelling on the day of the appointment without proper notice is unacceptable. Had an issue with a unit from Oak furniture land & a technician was sent to resolve the issue. On his arrival he took his shoes off which my wife thanked him for as we have just had expensive carpets fitted. He looked at the issue & told my wife he could sort it. He then went to go to his van put his shoes on in the house & trampled mud all over the carpet his comment was it will come off. He came in with some spray & sprayed the top of the unit, the smell was breath taking. He said it was done. I looked & it wasn’t any better than before he had done anything. He said that’s how it is & that’s what you get with real wood. We have 3 other pieces of the same range & they are perfect. He said that’s how it is I said it I sent photos to oak furniture land he just said is he a cabinet maker I am. He then left. Extremely disappointing! . During my initial telephone conversation, I was assured that they would send someone with the appropriate expertise for the issue I had with my TV bed —which did not happen, a nice man came but he was not an electrician despite stating that is was an electrical tv bed. I was also told that if the issue could not be fixed, I would receive a quote for the repair. This is not reflected in the letter that I received, nor is it what the man stated during his visit, which concluded less than an hour after his visit. They basically said in the letter we can’t help any further because we don’t have the part.Don’t fall for the £86 call out - it felt like to me that unless the item is fully labelled and the answer is ‘google able’ they just check out and bank the £86. We bought a Nectar mattress in June 2022 for £679, after a discount of £339. Because it was quite an expensive purchase, we expected a high‑quality mattress. However, within the first year—still inside the return period—the mattress started to settle unevenly. We followed all the instructions, including rotating it every 15 days, but the problem continued. We contacted customer service to return it. Instead of helping us, they persuaded us to keep it by offering a discount and a “lifetime warranty,” saying the mattress just needed more time to settle. Unfortunately, we trusted them and withdrew our return request. That was a big mistake. After another eight months, the mattress was still uneven. We contacted Nectar again, and they arranged an inspection by Emmiera Group Ltd. The engineer arrived with two 100g weights and a piece of string to test the mattress. We were shocked—how can 100g represent a real person who weighs over 50kg? Unsurprisingly, the engineer reported that “nothing is wrong” and that the mattress was “still settling,” even after 2.5 years. Emmiera Group Ltd claim to be independent, but they clearly work for Nectar. Their assessments always favour Nectar. Six months later, we requested another inspection because the mattress had become even worse. The same company came with the same equipment and gave the same conclusion. I even asked the engineer to stand on both sides of the mattress. On the good side, he could stand easily. On the dipped side, he struggled to keep his balance. I pointed this out, and he admitted he understood, but said his equipment and training required him to say the mattress was fine. Nectar still refused to replace it. It has now been four and a half years, and the mattress is still “settling,” according to them. In reality, it is extremely uneven and uncomfortable. To customers: Please be careful when buying a mattress from Nectar. They will sell you a poor‑quality product and then make it very difficult to return it. Emmiera Group Ltd are not truly independent—they always side with Nectar. If you decide to return your mattress, do it immediately and do not let them talk you out of it. If Nectar finally resolves my issue by replacing or refunding the mattress, I will update this review. If not, it shows they do not care about their customers. In my experience, it feels like a trap. The Emmiera Group provided us with timely updates regarding when a technician would be able to visit our home. The five hour initial time-slot is a bit restrictive for some customers and a narrower band would be better, notwithstanding the unpredictability of the technicians workload. The technician, Ben, gave us advance notice of his arrival and after identifying himself and explains what he was going to do he immediately got on with his task. Although he attempted to resolve the problem he was unable to do so. He then explained that he would submit a report of his findings and the possible outcomes to resolve the problem. Ben was very friendly, easy to communicate with and professional in the way he went about his business. We ordered a sofa bed mid November delivery 5 Dec for a stay over at Christmas. Having reviewed the photos of my chair issue Head office persuaded me to pay £84 upfront for a technician to come and look at and hopefully fix the chair. He arrived having not seen any photos and told me straight away that it was a three hour job and he therefore couldn’t do it. He left after 5 mins and said I would need to pay more for a further longer visit. There was never any chance he could have fixed it on this visit. This felt like a scam and head office refused to refund me even though they hadn’t shared the info about the problem with the technician, I paid £84 for a 5 minute visit the fixed nothing. I booked these people (and paid in advance) to remove and re-assemble the head rest on a sofa which would not go through the door during my move to a new property; so it is temporarily stored in the garage. As the service does not include assistance in taking the sofa back into the house (after which it would be reassembled), I had to employ manpower (30 minutes drive away), to help me do this. I was given a time slot of 0800-1300. On the due date at 08.53 I received a text to say the technician was injured and there would be a no show. I asked for a discount to compensate for lack of service, zero notice, and the fact I was out of pocket for the hire of labour, and will be again. This is not a situation created by me. I was given a follow-up date of 16th January - 30 days away!! In the event of a cancellation I am to be considered for a new improved date. Explaining the situation I was advised by their "Customer Services" Representative "we have done everything we can do". No! Everything SHOULD include recognition of inconvenience caused to the customer, acceptance I am out of pocket, recognition I have to rehire, and compensation in form of a discount for a compromised service. I have to believe the reason for call off is genuine but this is irrelevant. Having my request for a discount rejected, I advised I would give a factual and appropriate online testimonial based on experience. This made no difference. So here it is: To treat customers in this way during non-service delivery is entirely disrespectful. Their problem has become mine. In terms of a request for a discount the fact their Technician is unavailable and reason for postponement is also irrelevant. It is on a par with the price of fish in Kilmarnock. If the customer is important, if customer service is paramount, if Emmiera is customer centric, and the reason for postponement is not due to customer negligence, some attempt at compensation should be offered and not cooly rejected. Make your own mind up whether you consider their response appropriate, whether you will feel of value and important to them, and ultimately whether you wish to employ these people. More...

Be warned, they don't tell you about the £85 call-out fee until you've booked. Also, the website is a tad long-winded and the 'Choose File' section didn't allow JPEGs for some reason. Very quick to take your order (I received a text and e-mail confirmation and, soon after, a call within 2mins). I then told the lady on the phone that I can't proceed due to the hidden and excessive call-out fee, to which she simply replied, "Oh ok then.. no probs" and that was the end of the call. That response, albeit polite, was as if this either happens all the time or they can't justify/explain or offer you alternative solutions etc. This is not a reflection of the lady who called but the management who implement these policies. The call-out is both time-consuming and costly to both parties. I'd suggest doing a video-call to completely ascertain the issue(s), noting sizes, model numbers etc so all's correct and then provide a qualitative/detailed quote on the spot. I'd pay a call-out for something more urgent like a locksmith or plumbing but to re-stuff a sofa, £85 is simply not acceptable. More...
