My small studio is situated in the lovely market town of Lanark. Covering Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, central Scotland and the borders, I specialise in family and wedding photography. My aim is simple - to present you with natural & timeless mages that you will treasure forever! Family photography session - although we have use of our small studio, I try to shoot as often as possible outside using natural light and local environments. It would be a shame not to take advantage of the wonderful countryside close by. When it comes to wedding photography, by using a combination of a candid documentary style and contemporary portrait photography, I will capture the fleeting moments and emotions that make your day extra special - the natural smiles, laughter and tears of joy. I constantly look to record reaction and interaction, all the unscripted, un-posed moments that make your wedding unique from all the rest. This candid style will present you with beautiful artistic photographs where the focus is on everyone having a great time together, rather than traditional formality. I rarely stage or set shots up as I want my impact on the day to as minimal and discreet as possible.
I always look forward to meeting my clients on the day of the photoshoot, knowing that we'll all work together to make some great memories and images. I love the reaction that I get when my clients see the pictures from their photo session for the very first time! And I totally love watching their faces when they get to open the finished product once it's been delivered, whether it's an album, boxed prints or an image in a frame. Nothing beats seeing the printed image!
I love the whole process involved in taking photos from initial client consultation to handing over the finished package! OK, I may have exaggerated - I don't like the daily admin and formal business stuff that comes with running a business, but I DO love the process of meeting people and doing the actual photo session. I also love the post processing stage, making the photos 'come alive' in the digital darkroom. For family photoshoots this process may go on of 3-4 weeks, and for weddings it may take 4-7 weeks, but seeing the reaction of my clients they are presented with images for first viewing makes everything totally worthwhile and rewarding.
I will keep you and your family at ease with a relaxed, respectful and an unobtrusive style of photography. Formal group shots will be kept to a minimum, and I will do my best to ensure that your photo session or wedding is carried out in the most natural and relaxed style as possible. I will feel privileged to be part of your family group for the day, and in the case of weddings, for the most memorable day of your life. You can be assured that I will always endeavour to present you with a set of images that will be captured in a natural, timeless and elegant style.
