As a freelance florist, independent and fully qualified and working on a full time basis, I cover all aspects of floristry, run workshops and often take a table at a local artisan fair in order to bring freshly grown West Country flowers and plants to residents and visitors to Sidmouth. I love working with clients to produce unique wedding and funeral floral pieces and enjoy corporate and private work too. I am happy to travel within a healthy radius of Sidmouth in order to bring my work to some of the beautiful venues that exist in this beautiful part of the world.
I love the variety floristry provides. I love the journey of each design, from its conception to finished piece - adding those little extra elements that take from the expected to the extraordinary.
Having "retired" from my career as a legal secretary and the City of London to bring up my daughter and years later realising with a sad bump that her time at home with me would soon be at end as she spread her wings for pastures new - University and beyond - I returned to learning - only this time to indulge my passion for flowers.
Embarking on a two year City & Guilds Floristry Diploma course, I had no idea where it would lead but hoped it would open up an opportunity me - although I knew, very early on, that shop based work did not appeal to me at all.
I have enjoyed starting my own business from scratch, being supported at times by some wonderful local people and businesses and now looking forward to creating all sorts of designs for all sorts of people using the very best material - fresh, glorious flowers, foliages and plants predominantly from our lovely West Country.
I believe the passion I have for my floristry, shows in my work - and that my work should speak for itself without the need for me to try and "flog" it.
i would invite brides to look at my photos on my facebook page and to read the reviews left there and if they like what they see and read to get in touch with me to discuss any and all aspects of their wedding.
