Hi my name is Lucy, I have been a florist for 35years. I started my career and learnt every aspect of floristry in and around London, starting at the age of 13 as a Saturday girl until eventually working for the Queens florist Moyses Stevens who not only were framed for introducing the hand tied bouquet their amazing work won them two royal warrants for Her late majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and currently hold the royal warrant for HRH The Prince of Wales. I was well known and in demand because of my knowledge, speed and quality of work. I created flowers for Prince Charles 50th birthday and was part of the team that designed and made T/L Princess Diana’s funeral flowers. I have also had the privilege of working in the florist in Harrods Knightsbridge, Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane and The Ritz London Piccadilly. From that I then created floral arrangements for many celebrities such as Sir Elton John, The Royal family of Kuwait to name a few. I have secured floral contracts for Claridge’s, Grosvenor House, Dorchester Hotel and Hampton court palace. So, as you can imagine my experience and knowledge in floristry is far reaching, extremely varied and broad. I can create a simple buttonhole or handtied, small floral centrepieces to large designs reaching many meters in height and diameter. I feel extremely confident and experienced when designing and creating wedding and funeral flowers, I pride myself on the quality and high standard of work I produce. When it comes to the designs, I can make flowers that are contemporary, quirky, bespoke something within your budget and your taste I just love the challenge… in short there is not a lot I can’t do when it comes to flowers. It is My Art, My Passion, My Flair. I now have my own florist called Flowers of Kingsbridge it is based in the hustle and bustle of the traditional English market town of Kingsbridge, which is known for being surrounded by lush green rolling countryside and set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Established in 2019 Flowers of Kingsbridge has a team of imaginative, ambitious and flamboyant florists which pride themselves on producing exceptional designs for all occasions. We have a fast-growing reputation for attention to detail and are very proud of our wide range of fresh British flowers and internationally sourced blooms. Please don't be put off by my florist being based in Kingsbridge because I live just outside Plymouth so I have no problem with designing a wedding in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
Every day is different.
I can be as creative as I want to be.
I love being able to share my experience and help people create their own creations whilst having fun.
The calming effect it has on me.
I love being able so share my experience and skills which I learnt whilst working in London for the Queens Florist here in my own shop in Devon. Best thing is you get London designs but with Devon prices!
Ever since I started my Saturday Job in my Local florist when I was 13 I have wanted my own shop. It's all I have ever dreamt of. I have worked in some of the most beautiful places with the most amazing people (famous and non famous) gained so much quality experience. I have used all that and more in every place I have had the privilege to work. I always give 110% in everything I do.
So 17 months ago I was in a position where my kids were old enough, I had saved the money to set myself up and have a florist of my own, so I went for it. My dream came true 34 years down the line and I'm lovin it. (Saying that Covid was never in my business plan!! but I'm still going. So if I can get through that then I can get through anything!)
My daughter says ' because I'm amazing at it' LOL!
Seriously..... clients should choose me because of my experience I have gained over the years, My quality of work and attention to detail, because I source and use the freshest of flowers and I try to use as locally grown flowers where possible. My ability to understand and create what the bride is visualizing, and to work with all persons involved. bust most of all I love a challenge.
I can provide my services face to face, online, through Microsoft teams or Zoom through the post.
