I’ve been working as a freelance social media consultant for almost 7 years now which in social years is about 30! During this time, I have worked with a variety of businesses from sole traders to international retailers resulting in a diverse network of clients, campaigns and experience. Over the past year I have focused on becoming a specialist in Facebook and Instagram Advertising campaigns, however, I am qualified to offer assistance in many areas of utilising social media marketing for business purposes. Primary job responsibilities include: Planning, execution and management of social media advertising campaigns, specialising in Facebook and Instagram marketing. Auditing new client social media strategies and offering advice, implementation and management of improvements. *Example – I was employed by international shoe retailer Loake Shoemakers as their social media consultant in March 2017. I reviewed the strategy including the budget, content and audiences targeted, as well as recommending and executing a new approach. Results of the annual review revealed that the Facebook global community had increased by 63%, the UK community by 162% and Instagram following by 123%. Website visits from social sites had also increased on average by 151%. The online conversion rate also rose by more than a third during this time period. Content creation for profiles and advertising campaigns (images and/or videos). Monitoring and understanding of new features and developments e.g. Facebook Business Manager, use of the Facebook Pixel, new advert formats, targeting capabilities, location pages for stores, and implementing user-generated content website tools. *Example – I recommended and managed the rollout of Facebook Location Pages for several Loake Shoemakers stores throughout the UK (14 in total). The recommendation was approved in 2017. The Location Pages were created, admin access for the store managers arranged, with advice and support provided throughout. I have administered local advertising campaigns driving footfall in to the stores. Training organisations and/or individuals on the opportunities social media provides, setting up company social media profiles, managing the online presence and/or advising in-house staff how to do so, creating documents to support the training given.

I’m delighted to say – I love my job. On a daily basis, I get to be creative, work with different people, explore developing technology and recommend possible applications to my clients to help establish or grow their business.
