My little girl started at Kilburn 2years ago, she was having confidence workshops at school and in the two years, she now competes in solos and has had so many opportunities, dancing in the pasha show and competing in the Dance World Cup. Kilburn has given her so much and we will be eternally grateful!!
BHVA’s mission, to inspire, create and celebrate, is what drives us to provide a community-based arts hub, where all members of society have access to high quality arts provision. We do this by providing a safe, nurturing, creative and all-inclusive atmosphere where innovative teaching practices support individuals’ personal and artistic goals. We have created an arts provision that celebrates all successes at the heart of every community. A place that high quality teaching and coaching can be found to inspire and nurture life-long skills to help you achieve the best you can be, in whatever you want to do in life. We use arts to have a positive impact on the whole person and the whole community, by allowing people to find the joy in their life. At BHVA we strive to empower all who walk through our doors, whether you are taking up an art form for the first time, are wanting to improve your performance, or are looking to develop your teaching pedagogy. We do this by providing a nurturing, creative and all-inclusive atmosphere, with innovative teaching practices to promote student’s personal and artistic growth and celebrate all successes. Our core values underpin all the work that we do. Through our research-based tuition we aim to inspire all our students to find their own creative signature. Our trained staff utilise mentoring and coaching knowledge to nurture students, building confidence in all elements of their creative journey. All our programmes are supported by up-to-date research and training to ensure only the highest quality of provision is offered. Creativity is what drives us in our approach to use Arts Education to break down barriers and to discover the unique creativity each member of BHVA has to offer. Finally, the most important of all, we celebrate every success, no matter the size, to ensure that anyone who engages and works with BHVA finds moments of joy both in themselves and within their artistic journey. Currently we offer programmes in Voice and Dance. Within sessions we get to know our students, whether they are having 1 to 1 tuition or are being taught in a group, to ensure we provide them with the tools they need to develop, create and excel within their chosen art form. We are committed to facilitating and championing our students creativity and individuality. BHVA’s motto is to conform to non-conformity. We do not want to train everyone to be the same but ensure that all students have excellent technique that allows them to apply artistry to discover their own creative style. ALL OF OUR PROGRAMMES ARE ADAPTED AND PERSONALISED TO REFLECT THE STUDENTS IN FRONT OF US IN EACH SESSION, ENSURING ALL STUDENTS INDIVIDUAL NEEDS AND GOALS ARE CATERED FOR WHETHER YOU ARE PARTICIPATING TO DEVELOP PERSONALLY, CREATIVELY OR PROFESSIONALLY.
I love watching students grow and gain confidence in themselves.
Being person-centred in our approach means we can enable to students to achieve their goals, whether it’s getting up to speak, sing or dance in front of others for the first time, or seeing students win gold at the World Cup. It can be seeing friendships and self-confidence develop through to being confident to attend an audition at amateur or professional level.
My joy and passion for the arts was the initial inspiration.
Through my continual learning and development I want to pass that joy and passion on to others, and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access arts provision at all levels.
We offer a person-centred approach in our coaching. We look to give you the tools that you need so you can make your own artistic and creative choices.
We offer sessions both in person and online, even our group classes.
Sessions have breaks between them to ventilate and clean down the studios. Students have the option to join in remotely if they are displaying symptoms or are having g to isolate.
