I will tailor lessons to suit the person in front of me. I teach all ages and abilities and I specialise in Pop and Musical Theatre. I love working with new singers and I enjoy having to tailor each lesson to the person in the room with me. Everyone is unique and everyone's needs are different. I attend lots of courses about the voice and voice science in order to keep up to date with any new discoveries and in order to continue my own professional development.
I was a primary school teacher for 15 years and I was head of music and drama in every school I taught in. I set up choirs and had lots of requests from parents for 1-1 singing lessons. Working from home worked perfectly with two young children so I decided to give it a go. I have sung all my life on stage and in lots of bands so I found a singing teacher, took my Grades from 1-8 in Popular Music Vocals and trained with Vocal Process for 4 years. I'm still part of the VP team and continue to work with them whist developing my own business.
I am very passionate about what I do and I would endeavour to make sure you leave every single lesson feeling as though you have learnt something new and accomplished what you set out to achieve. Obviously, practice in your own time will play a key part in improving weekly but I can help you to make that work.
If you wish to learn online I can provide lessons on Zoom. I taught all of my pupils online during the lockdown and some of them have chosen to remain on Zoom as it worked very well indeed. I will send you a link shortly before your lesson and invite you. All you need at your end are backing tracks and lyrics and somewhere you can sing freely!
My studio is very well ventilated so I do ask you to wear warm clothes or lots of layers because I have the french doors and all windows open to keep everyone safe. You do not need to wear a mask but if you are using a microphone, I will ask you to bring your own. Everything is sanitised regularly and hand gel will be provided.
