Studio Hygge

Hi I have been coaching various styles of the voice for over 35 years! I work with individual goals and needs using singing as a form of mental wellbeing, but also work with an examination centre for those who wish too, to complete graded exams. I work with a singers music passions and introduce customised vocal exercises to songs they love - this is a unique way of working that prevents students getting bored with craftwork and mundane exercises! If you'd like further information then please do get in touch. My studio is a place that radiates positivity and confidence.

What do you love most about your job?

I've got to say, I have the absolute BEST job in the world, and I never hesitate in shouting it from the rooftops! It's truly a joy to witness the transformation in someone's mood when they step into my studio feeling all stressed and bogged down, only to leave with the biggest, happiest grin plastered across their face. It's incredible how music has this magical power to touch people's souls and turn their whole day around!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have been involved in teaching singing in various capacities since my late teens. At that time, I didn't have the self-assurance to pursue it as a full-time profession, so I ventured into Social Work, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, as I started a family, my passion for teaching singing naturally grew, and I expanded my business into Studio Hygge.... I've never looked back!

Why should our clients choose you?

I think I should leave this question for my students to answer! Please do look at my reviews and find me on social media for more!

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I can provide lessons online or in person. My preference is always to have people come to the studio but I work with people in America and Spain so this isn't always possible !!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

During covid Singing was hit very hard. Singing is obviously a high risk covid activity. Covid meant that all singing in choirs was stopped. I spent a lot of time working out ways to provide lessons online and joined a small team of people providing a free online choir for choir members who were missing their 'in person' choirs, which grew from a handful of people to 1000's of members Internationally! I then went on to move my current students online and provided them with a service, which grew too! I still have several people still coming for online lessons from this and have gained a few more since the restrictions stopped! Singing is still a high risk activity if you have covid so despite the government stopping all restrictions, I keep the studio safe by having time between each student to air the studio and respectively request that if they have signs of a cold to transfer that lesson to online.
