Dean is an amazing teacher and I cannot recommend him enough! I started lessons with him 4 years ago, when I was 22 years old, having no knowledge of alto saxophone. I used to go to his house every two weeks for lessons. But found that sometimes I struggled to get there on time because of work commitments/traffic. I noticed that Dean did some Skype lessons so I asked him if we could try them out. And have carried on since! Now I live on the other side of the UK, and still have Skype lessons fortnightly. It does not compromise the quality of the lessons or the sound of the saxophone, and providing you have a good internet connection it will be fine. If any one is considering lessons with Dean I will encourage you to try him out, and even if you live hundreds of miles away ask for Skype lessons - they work really well :)Dean is a fun and encouraging teacher, he always finds new ways to teach and customise the lessons to each individual. Something that i really like about him is that even with his many years of experience as a musician and jazz player (and he is an amazing player) he is continually pursuing to learn more about the saxophone and music in general and always shares his new insights with me. He has taken me through ABRSM grades 4 and 5 with excellent marks and I am starting to learn jazz improvisation now.
