I took up the guitar in 1973 when my brother gave me an acoustic and spent many happy hours learning my first chords from him. I soon developed an interest in various styles of guitar music. I studied classical guitar for several years and achieved grade 8. I teach all abilities and all ages at competitive rates. Lessons are one-to-one so there is no pressure and you can learn at your own pace in a friendly well equipped environment.

My name's Gavin, I have been teaching students to play guitar since 2006, when I started my own business teaching guitar. I teach guitar to students of all ages from total beginners to intermediate level. have a great teaching style, a lot of playing experience and knowledge and am very easy to get on with. I want you to reach your musical goals, whether they are to learn to play a few simple songs or to become the next Jimmy Page, Slash or Van Halen.

We provide guitar, piano, keyboard and vocal tuition to all ages and abilities. Our studios are all fully equipped with Yamaha instruments and we provide a friendly, happy, fun environment for our students to learn. As a Yamaha Music Point, we provide group lessons on Yamaha courses which also offer the option of Trinity college and Rock School examinations. There are also limited spaces for one to sessions which can be tailored to the individual student.

Noted for the quality of its lessons, Blue Wave Guitar Tuition is run by Richard Boxley, an accomplished professional tutor with many years experience in the field of music education. Based in the Stourbridge area, Richard offers high-quality, private guitar tuition to students of all ages and abilities. Although Richard teaches all electric, acoustic or classical guitar styles, he specialises in rock, funk and classical guitar.
