When I witnessed harsh and abusive dog trainers coercing and intimidating dogs to make them do was they wanted, I just knew there had to be a better way. I didn't want to scare animals or make them feel uncomfortable whilst trying to train them or change their behaviour and I could see that most others I met were uncomfortable with it as well. I studied dogs and the science of behaviour to support the practical skills needed to effectively modify problem behaviour and decided to make a difference to the lives of those owners and their dogs.
Our consultant Al Rankin, is an expert in canine behaviour and development. He graduated with first class honours in Canine Behaviour and Training from the University of Hull, and with over 20 years of experience of coaching and training adults, he knows how to get the very best from you and your dog. He is a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants, a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild and is a Registered Accredited Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour & Training Council. He regularly attends training and behaviour symposiums with some of the world's leading animal scientists and trainers. As well as teaching you and your dog important skills, he will also explain how dogs learn so that you can apply these principles to real life situations. Developing an understanding of what motivates your dog's behaviour will help you to live in harmony with your best friend.
