Having worked for a large independent flooring company in the Thames valley for a decade and needing to try and set up a company for myself, and challenge myself more. Working for your self has advantages and disadvantages, but most people would say they would never go back, and I can happily say the same.

We have made some changes - always wearing face masks when visiting or fitting, carrying alcohol based hand gels and wearing gloves in addition as and when necessary. Distancing can be awkward, but for the most part, with help from the clients, we have been able to do so.
It's so unusual not to be able to greet a customer with a handshake, but after nearly a year it's now second nature. Let's hope we can revert sometime soon!
