Tim is a lovely man but he's certainly no handyman.He's had two stabs at fixing a new lock to our insecure back garden gate and it worked for a few weeks. But the yale lock he fitted has broken again, the bolt is misaligned again so won't slide across and today we've had to call in a proper handyman at extra cost to fix it.Far far worse is the fact that Tim assured us that he could hang a door in our kitchen.He's made a total dog's dinner of it after cutting and chopping into the framework in a desperate bid to get the door to fit.We've had to fork out £125 to bring in another contractor to try to retrieve the situation.My seriously-frustrated wife is still working to build up the battered framework, it was an absolute disaster.I must point out that when I told Tim's wife and business partner that he had botched the job from start to finish she immediately offered to waive his fee.And since he charges £25 an hour it would have been a big bill.An affable, friendly man he may be but Tim should stick to gardening - he's no more a handyman than I am.
