I highly recommend T for Teacher. Jourdan has been absolutely fantastic — she is so much more than just a teacher. She took the time to truly understand my son and adapted her teaching methods to meet his specific needs. He absolutely loves working with her, and in a very short time his knowledge and confidence have grown enormously. I can’t praise her enough. This is exactly the kind of support needed for 11+ preparation. More...

I would highly recommend TforTeacher for any tutoring needs. Emily is just brilliant. I feel that she has picked up on things that are important to our daughter and utilized those to make learning fun and also used some play based learning which is fabulous for her age group. In the three sessions our daughter has had, paired with the homework at home, there has already been vast improvement in the areas we were requesting assistance with. Not only is she improving with these areas, she adores Emily and sincerely looks forward to seeing her at each session. My deepest gratitude also for helping me learn as a parent better ways to help guide my daughter on how to do things. Homework has become less of a chore and more fun. Wins all around! More...

Struggling in the classroom environment and falling behind her peers, In only a term of classes T for Teachers has been instrumental in giving our child skills and confidence in her abilities to improve up three reading bands. Even though it is quite a late lesson, close to bedtime (we often get our child ready for bed before the session), the tutor engages our daughter well and keeps the lessons fun and enjoyable, setting achievable and fun homework to takeaway (we sit in a cafe at the weekend and work on them). At the start we weren’t sure that online tutorials would be successful, but they do work really well and our daughter loves them so much! We highly recommend T for Teachers! More...

Emily and Clare are great teachers! I appreciate the time they have both put into lesson preparation for my child – it really shines through in their teaching. They have been very helpful in targeting the weaker areas! My child always looks forward to her lessons with Clare/Emily as they make it fun and very engaging. I would absolutely recommend TforTeachers to anyone! More...

Emily is absolutely amazing, my 9 years old son, who is autistic, loves her, and for us it has been a game changer to be able to provide him the right support, not just for his academic development, but more importantly, his mental health with the SEND support to help him, and us, understand about his emotions, triggers and how to manage them. Thank you so much, Emily, I cannot recommend you enough. More...

Services

T for Teacher offers a premium service of primary tutoring, homeschooling and SEN support for families in Banbury and the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on quality: all lessons are planned from scratch and delivered by an experienced, qualified teacher and special educational needs both in-person and online. By choosing to work with us, you will benefit from a course of high quality lessons which are rooted in the latest theories of learning and innovative teaching techniques. Every lesson is tailored to meet the needs of your child and includes use of a bespoke teaching powerpoint and access to the latest teaching resources.

Each block of lessons begins with assessment and a full written report on your child's current attainment ability which is used to generate SMART targets. As parents, you will be given regular updates on your child's progress in the form of a weekly session report which includes additional ideas on how you can practise taught skills at home.

The most effective way to learn is through 1:1 lessons with a qualified and experienced teacher. Unfortunately, this is rarely available in a busy mainstream classroom. At T For Teacher high quality lessons can be delivered 1:1 in the safety and familiarity of your own home, providing an effective learning environment for children who find the mainstream classroom challenging. As a former SENCO and teacher of children with SEND, I have extensive experience working with a range of special education needs including Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech Language and Communication needs, Developmental Delay, Attachment Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Anxiety and ADHD. Whether you are currently homeschooling, managing a reduced school timetable or simply looking for some top-up tutoring we can provide a bespoke packages of primary tutoring, homeschooling and SEN support to help your child reach their full potential.

A diagnostic assessment will tell you if your child is dyslexic or not. It will be carried out by our certified dyslexia assessor in person. After the assessment, you will receive a detailed report on your child’s cognitive profile which will highlight their individual style of learning by focusing on their reading, writing and spelling skills. The report will make recommendations on how your child can best be supported both at home and in school. The full diagnostic assessment may be used as evidence for exam access arrangements or to apply for funded support at University, known as Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

The only way dyslexia can be formally diagnosed is through a full Diagnostic Assessment carried out by a certified dyslexia assessor. However, dyslexia screening tests can be a helpful, more affordable method, of assessing an individual’s strengths and weaknesses and identifying the likelihood of Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD). These tests can be used to help identify which pupils would benefit from additional intervention and support with learning. Our Dyslexia Screening Assessments are completed by a Certified Dyslexia Assessor and can be carried out in person or online.
