We booked Sparkle & Magic for our wedding celebration in Live Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne last month. With it not being a traditional wedding venue, I was worried about the logistics of making it work. But, the Sparkle & Magic team were absolutely amazing. Andrew was an absolute pleasure to liaise with, and he made us feel like his only customer, with his attention to detail and a proactive and positive approach. On the night of our wedding, the food, customer service and attention to detail was perfect. Our 80+ guests, even those who aren't accustomed to an all veggie menu, were blown away by the food, especially those delicious veggie sausage rolls! Sparkle and Magic are at Dinky Dub festival and I confess to being a little dubious about a weekend without meat. Two meals in and I’m loving it, kofta for tea last night was fantastic and the breakfast bap I’ve just finished was just what the Dr ordered this morning. The food is great, full of flavours and I haven’t found myself thinking that was lovely but… as I often do with vegetarian menus. Absolutely beautiful homemade food, although it was veggie and we are not you’d definitely not complain. Pizza was lush, lamb kofta veggie style tucked inside a flatbread with hummus, Tzatziki and rocket was absolutely unreal. My other half had veggie style chilli in a Yorkshire pud ( I know) and she gave it 100% for deliciousness! We had an added bonus of a brolly while waiting in the rain for our food. How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We are always happy to create a menu you and your guests won't forget. Ingredients sourced from across the North East and North Yorkshires best local producers. All crafted in to delicious vegetarian food for you and you guests to enjoy.
From day one our ethos is to reduce the impact of food, drinks and event consumption – so that you can have sparkle and magic at your event, without it literally costing the earth.
We have established relationships with a range of interesting, small producers and local companies - and our network of partners is growing daily. These are relationships that we hope will develop, enabling us all to flourish, whilst promoting a conscious consumer habits. We are excited to share our partners’ stories with our customers and clients, directing them to small, independent projects around the country, individuals and organisations they may not be aware of. Thus, helping people to reconnect with their natural environment, enabling them to explore great, locally sourced produce in their areas and lives.

We love to see an event come to life, people enjoying our services and most of all creating unforgettable experiences and memories.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Set up by a small group of like-minded friends, the aim of Sparkle and Magic is to explore the world of small-scale, local, UK producers, seasonal growers and start-ups, with the aim of bringing our unique style and service to your event. We believe we are joining the growing network of businesses offering practical, and affordable solutions, to local production and the ever present climate and environmental issues.

The Sparkle and Magic team is looking forward to introducing people to, and championing, the very best of locally produced UK goods – from British sparkling wine and seasonal veg, to edible flowers and delicious herbs. Using our knowledge and enthusiasm to not only serve customers great products but to gently engage with them in conversation about the impact of humans and the event industry on our natural environment. Our team believes in conscious consumption and through our boutique events units we want to introduce more people to that idea. We hope to prove that we don’t need to stop the party to make the world just a little bit better.
Delicious - First and foremost our food is always delicious! We achieve this by using what's in season and grown in your area. We aim to intrigue, entice, elevate great produce and most importantly leave you satisfied.
Local - As we grow as a small business, so does our network of local providers, producers and growers. By working alongside other independent small businesses we are helping reduce the carbon footprint of your food. Working closely and where we can we bring you great produce directly from farm to plate. This helps us guarantee the quality of our products and delivers exceptional freshness and flavour. Championing the champions of great UK products is just part of our passion.
Sustainable - When we say sustainable we don’t mean delivering you the same product time and time again. We mean working towards sourcing 90% or more of our menu from seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced UK growers and producers. We mean delivering you the finest ingredients while reducing our impact on the planet.
The Future - Training staff, working with those who struggle to find a positive work environment whether care leavers, homeless or those who struggle to cope with modern society. We have another two units waiting to begin their renovation journey and hope to use these as projects to fulfil some of our aims. Sharing our knowledge, skills and lessons learnt to help others find their sparkle.

English Sparkling Wine
Sparkle
Our drinks unit, serving the best in British sparkling wines and other small vineyard varieties. We are passionate about promoting the best of British. Therefore, we are championing the UK produced sparkling wines over traditional fizz. Alongside this we are working with small independent coffee roasters and blenders, in order to make the supply chain more sustainable. Delivering barista coffee that will keep you coming back for more. A taste of the finest, brightest British drinks, with added sparkle and great service.

Our ‘food’ unit, serving delicious pizzas and the North East and Yorkshire's finest sourced products, we cater for your needs from breakfast to late night treats. We concentrate on seasonal, small producer, low impact, UK grown foods. All our products are vegetarian friendly. Our menu will vary from event to event, based on location and your events needs, allowing us to provide the very best of seasonal food, and add the personal touches that will make your event memorable. We don’t want to just serve food, we want to offer you the magic of your local area.
Multi Day Package Catering
If your dream is a multi day event, planning a weekend with your friends, hiring a venue for your wedding, or running a corporate retreat we can help. We have an adaptable menu that can be changed throughout the day / event to suit your needs. Why not have your evening reception and bubbles, then let us feed your guests a delicious breakfast to get them ready for the day. When everyone gets hungry what better than a stylish horsebox to come grab top quality, local products whether its pizza, potatoes or anything else from our menu.
