They were consistently responsive, easy to deal with, and turned work around quickly, which made a real difference in keeping things moving. They stepped in to act as Principal Designer when our previous architects declined to continue (as we chose not to proceed with their builder), which was particularly helpful and ensured continuity at a critical stage.RDK supported us with the full technical pack for building control for both a loft conversion and side return extension in SW London, as well as preparing the structural drawings required for our Thames Water build-over agreement. I worked with Diven Vivek, Sasith Mahawaduge, and Isuri Maneka at RDK Civil Engineering as part of the architectural and structural drawings of my loft extension. All three were very professional and helpful throughout the project. First, the architectural drawing was quickly done within a tight deadline of 10 days for submission to the Merton Council. During this period we had back and forth conversations to refine the drawing. In addition the Heritage and Reasonable Exemption Statement were also prepared alongside the drawing. Once the documents were submitted, Merton council approved my submission in less than six weeks without any comments. During the six weeks, RDK also helped me with the structural drawings. Due to the retain of a working fireplace in my house, fireplace stack in the loft needs to be kept, and hence a more innovative solution was required to place steel beams in the loft to support the roof, to avoid the fireplace stack, and to maximise our space all at the same time.
