What an awesome party yesterday was, everyone RAVED about the food and it made Daniel and I so happy - especially because we didn’t eat much of it at all!

Penelope’s canapés were very delicious, elegant and classy in presentation. Her friendly team of bar person and servers was very attentive/responsive to my guests – over a 100 UK and International designers of discerning tastes. Penelope was excellent in her advice of food selection, quantities, and more importantly she was a joy to work with, calm and professional throughout from start till the end of event. Penelope and her team provided a fantastic spread for my father's wake. Everything was thought of and Penelope went over and above making sure everything was just right in what was a tricky space with lots of guests, even providing options for guests whose dietary requirements were complex. Great communications all the way along. She and her staff were discreet and professional at what was a difficult day for us as a family. Had an excellent experience with Penelope Evans catering a small (< 30 people) celebration of life. She gave us helpful guidance in what to order while also taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences. On the day, she provided staff, kept the tea and coffee topped up, circulated with the drink, and did the clean up. We felt that we were in good hands. All the guests were impressed by the variety, daintiness, and tastiness of the food. I chose Penelope Bramall to do the catering for my 60th birthday party.
From the outset, I was impressed with the choice of food on the menus; and can truly say that I was spoiled for choice.
Pre-party, it was as simple as making my choice of canapés and paying a small deposit to secure the booking.
Which left me to choose the champagne and wines from a nearby wine merchant (they were also very good at lending me glasses for the event and providing ice and ice buckets). And to buy fruit juices from a local shop.
Penelope came round once too see my kitchen once before my party; I suppose to make sure that it was going to work well to heat up the various hot canapés. She immediately put me at ease, and I got the sense that she had catered for big parties many times before.
I know it wasn’t part of her brief, but she really reassured me and made me feel confident that my party would be a real success.
I asked Penelope to do the catering for 60 and invited 60 of my friends, from current friends and colleagues, going back to school friends.
Over 50 turned up on the day itself.
On the day, Penelope and her team arrived an hour before the event was due to start as planned, with the food I had chosen.
My champagne and wines had arrived about an hour earlier as planned.
I was left to wait for my friends to arrive, as Penelope and her team didn’t need any help in the kitchen.
The staff Penelope employs are really friendly and super-efficient.
When my guests arrived, they greeted them with a drink; and throughout the afternoon, served them with canapés.
The food never ran out!
Loads of my guests asked me where I found the caterers from.
I’m happy to say that my party was a real success and everybody enjoyed themselves.
There was never any need to feel anxious, as Penelope and her team had all matters well under control.
Penelope is such a lovely person too; a rare mix of efficient and relaxed; in control but not controlling. Nothing seems to cause too much difficulty for her.
She made my party the success that it turned out to be.

Penelope and her team catered for 20 people at my home. Her service from when we first met through to delivery on the night was exceptional. Penelope is very intuitive, and with her help, we were able to provide a delicious, varied, stylish and well-balanced selection of food from her incredible array of canapés, matched with appropriate bubbles (at her suggestion and which were far better value than the one I was considering). Penelope Evans Catering wowed our guests on Saturday with an outstanding canape menu which tantalised the taste-buds and provided a feast for the senses. Every dish was delicious and one discerning guest even recognised the blackened cod as being sourced from the same suppliers as used by Nobu. It was not only the food, the professional and friendly manner with which the catering team, under Penelope's expert guidance, worked meant there was not a moment when our guests did not have a drink to hand or the offer of one of the sumptuous savoury or dessert canapes. The BBQ was excellent - she gave me some great ideas for the menu and came and cooked everything during the party - even in my tiny BBQ and terrible oven! Penelope was an absolute superstar for our AGM lunch. With many last minute changes of venue and issues with parking and storage, Penelope made sure her commitment was flawless and all was totally organised and fully explained to us which enabled us to set up our lunch when needed and it looked and tasted a million dollars. She provided all the crockery and serving utensils, she provided last minute drinks which we needed added to the order and managed changes to orders while providing all the dietary and allergy info that was required. Penelope was brilliant, in every way. The food was excellent - and loads of it. She met us in the middle of a park while we were setting up for a staff picnic, and brought the food on platters and provided everything we needed to serve and eat. The quality of the food itself was exceptional and she had thought about all the little extras such as dipping sauces and extra dressings. As requested there was a lot of vegan and veggie options so no one felt left out. Afterwards Penelope returned to our offices and collected the platters.
