Gareth and Peacocks Pest Control are a fantastic, knowledgeable and responsive team. We are very grateful for their help with an ant infestation in our house and garden. We had been dealing with this ourselves for 2 months, but the situation got worse so we called Gareth. Gareth is exceptional in every department and we highly recommend Peacock's Pest Control. We were lucky to find Peacock's after nearly 4 months of hearing rats in our loft (and seeing regular activity on a trail camera). We went through 4 other companies trying to solve the issue. By Christmas the issue had got worse as the rats had multiplied and the increase in numbers meant they spread across the building. We could hear horrible rat noises on a daily basis in our downstairs walls as well as the loft.Gareth's expertise, professionalism and, above all, ability to actually fix the issue set him apart from everyone else.He identified that there was rat activity coming into the property from our (semi-detached) neighbour's uncapped waste pipe which allowed the rats onto the roof and into the loft space through a small hole near our neighbour's gutter. He took a highly scientific approach and was able to point out activity that no other professional had noticed. He said he was proud to have solved the case when so many other companies failed and he's quite right to say so!Gareth was friendly, calm, knowledgable and empathetic throughout what was a very stressful time. After fixing the issue he dealt with the few remaining pests without using poison. Some of the companies that visited made out that poison was the only way to fix the issue. In contrast Gareth explained that poison is always the very last resort and he does not recommend the use of poison in a property with children or animals. This was not only an approach that made us feel more comfortable but ultimately Gareth had more success with traps than any of the other companies did with poison. Gareth cleaned our loft space to finish the job and completed a full survey of both our side and our neighbour's side of the property to rule out any other issues.We are so grateful to have found Peacock's Pest Control and in solving our issue they have allowed us to get back to feeling safe in our home. They responded to my initial enquiry about noises in the loft very quickly, and came round the next day to start investigating things. Gareth is very knowledgeable, and identified the issue straightaway, and suggested a clear plan, which he followed through until the problem was resolved. Absolutely brilliant service from Peacocks Pest Control Ltd. Gareth turned up early, was professional from start to finish, and took the time to explain everything clearly. He thoroughly searched for where the problem was coming from, explained all about cluster flies, and you could tell straight away how experienced he was.He checked everywhere including under cupboards and in the loft, put the treatment down properly, and reassured us he’d come back if we noticed anything else. Had what we thought was a rat problem in our loft. Peacocks came and carried out an in-depth , internal and external inspection of the building , including drains and concluded that instead of rats it was mice that we had. Gareth attended very quickly when we phoned him having found evidence of a mouse in the loft space. Surveyed the outside of our house (plus neighbour's as we are semi-detached) and found the likely access point. Set traps and mouse caught within 24 hours! Revisited. We were delighted to find Peacock’s Pest Control, having discovered an unwelcome guest in our shed. Lucy and Gareth are incredibly warm, friendly and professional and from the moment we spoke with them, we instantly felt reassured. Communication was excellent throughout. Gareth was thorough, lifting drain covers and exploring every inch of our front driveway and back garden to establish the routes used by the creature. It was fascinating to learn how its age, size and diet could be gleaned from the pellets. Gareth produced a detailed report and returned after a few weeks to find that the animal had been caught and had been dining on boxes of grass seed, as suspected. Gareth used mesh to patch up the entry points and disinfected the shed, helping us to go through all the chewed and damaged items. Discovered rats in the loft and panic called Rentokil who quoted nearly £7k in total to solve the problem. Then went to Gareth at Peacocks who spent far longer investigating the loft and outside of house, had a sensible plan, and after a drainage survey (different company) was able to pinpoint the access point and block it off, catch the remaining rat in the loft, disinfect and leave an air freshener up there for under 10% of Rentokil’s price. I don’t want to jinx it but I’ve not heard anything coming from the loft since. He’s lovely, knowledgable and reasonably priced. While i hope I don’t have to, i would absolutely use him again. Gareth was prompt and communicated the process well, so I knew what to expect. He was courteous, positive, tidy and calm which was a great comfort for a family with young children. He dealt efficiently with the large wasps nest that was located in an area which was difficult to access without a fuss or charged a very reasonable fee. I am very impressed with Peacocks Pest Control who I have been using for the past year. They provide a complete investigation and treatment service at a reasonable price and will not stop until the pest problem has been eradicated. The founder and owner, Gareth, is a qualified and experienced biologist and pest control expert who takes the time and trouble to investigate the cause of the pest problem ((rats, mice, bees, wasps) before explains the treatment plan and implementing the solution. In my case , apart from laying traps, this also included preventative measures such as installing or repairing door draft excluders or repairing masonry cracks where mice might enter. Outstanding service and support. I called Gareth due to a rat problem in my garden . Rats were out feeding in broad daylight. There were quite a high number of rats. Gareth was extremely responsive and came out very quickly to provide an assessment. Thankfully, they were not nesting in my garden but he did require a number of visits to try and resolve the problem. He has caught seven rats in total. !
