We are so far very pleased with the care my Mother in law is receiving from Open Doors. My wife’s Mum has 4 regular carers who cover for each other. We like it that they listen to us and have quickly built up a bond with Mum. The Manager Sophia checks in with us regularly and communication appears to be very good. We are only using the carers for 2 hours a day for now which gives family members a little respite as Mum can no longer live independently. We are likely to require more hours in the near future. The ladies were wonderful. Looking after my aged father 96 with terminal illness at home. They coped with everything the illness through at them, leaving dad very comfortable and dignified at all times.

A very efficient service really happy with the outcome. All the carers have gone above and beyond of their call of duties and have all been very caring and helpful. In the main the care my father received has been first class. The main problem has been that, as he is very hard of hearing, not enough effort has always been made to communicate with him.
Fortunately Dad has improved so much that he now knows the procedure without being told.
The staff have always been courteous to both dad and myself.
One criticism is that the continuity of care is sometimes missing. That seems to have now been sorted out. Sometimes the time keeping is a little bit off but we have to accept that traffic issues affect time keeping.
Any issues have always been addressed promptly.
I don't think my dad's care could have been much better by any other agency.

What inspired you to start your own business?
Home is the best place to be for all of us and having worked in the community for more than 20 years I realised that there is more I could do to help people to continue living in their own homes. I have a passion for improving people's lives by helping them to maintain their independence, as much as they can.

We offer excellent service and to date we have impacted positively on our service users' lives and wellbeing.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We continue to follow the Government's guidelines on Covid-19 - i.e. our carers continue to wear masks and other personal protective clothing. Handwashing and personal hygiene is continuously emphasized to our staff.
Personal Care
We provide washing, showering, bathing, continence care, haircare, oral care, hair care, dressing and make-up.
We also provide catheter care, stoma care, peg feed.
We prepare all meals and can help with feeding and oral fluids.
Our carers will do some light housework - i.e. washing up, laundry, ironing and tiding up your living environment.
We also administer oral and topical medication.
We also offer live-in care, night cover and sleep-ins.
We also do sit ins - where a carer wants to have a break, in between their caring duties
All these can be arranged to be done at times, convenient to you.
