I’m Kevin and I’m a freelance digital designer from Paisley, Scotland. Having studied the design of physical products at the Glasgow School of Art alongside studying mechanical engineering at the University of Glasgow, I have since taken the skills I learned there into the field of digital design.

What makes a great website?
A great website is one that engages visitors from the very start and allows them to find relevant information easily while providing clear next steps. The site is designed around the client and their content and should be as distinct as they are.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask the client about the message they are trying to communicate through their branding/website. I'd want to define the values and traits that distinguish their brand from its competitors as well as the aims they are looking to meet.
Describe your creative process.
The process would begin by defining what it is the client is looking to achieve from their branding/website. From there I would look to establish the client's design preferences before creating concepts for the client to evaluate. Any feedback would then be implemented and the final design agreed upon.
For a branding project, I would then hand over all the files via OneDrive.
For a web design project, the design would first be created in Figma before being greenlit by the client. I would then start building the site locally (on my own computer) before sharing a video of the fully-built site to the client. From there I would upload the site to the client's hosting service and hand over all logins and passwords.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Before starting work I would need to know about the client and their goals. From there I would need to know more about what they already have in place: their current logo/branding, website, print documents, social media posts et cetera. We would then establish what the client wishes to have delivered to them by project's end as well as a timeframe for completion.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most is working with companies across different industries and having to adapt to different styles to create branding and websites that are tailored to every client's needs.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I chose to start my own business because it gave me the flexibility and freedom to work with a wide variety of clients in different fields.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have extensive experience across multiple design disciplines including graphic design, branding, print design, web design, UI/UX design and WordPress development.
