Rather beautiful in its own way - particularly inside. It is interesting to visit a cathedral which isn't 'cluttered' with plaques to former deans, bishops, rich landowners from the 12th century onward ( remember they were new builds once), so the building itself - and you could say, religion - is much more central to the experience. I'm rating The Beatles by Candlelight concert here as well as the cathedral. The cathedral, whilst lovely, is not good for this kind of music. Sorry but The Beatles was a group of 4 and certainly didn't have a female singer. Enjoyed it but wouldn't go again.Tickets advised there was minimal parking at The Cathedral and to park on the college campus which we did but the signposting to then get to the cathedral is almost non existent so we had to ask for directions a few times and then got there to find there was plenty of parking available. I have never sat in such uncomfortable chairs. Difficult to find our way back to the car park in the dark. Lots of derelict student accommodation about. More...

This place is free to visit and truly spiritual. You can pause for a prayer, explore each room’s unique meaning, and feel the story unfolding around you. The bells are a NIGHTMARE!!Currently, the full sequence of bells repeats about 25 times. While I respect the tradition, the duration is quite disruptive! It just keeps going on sunday or even during the week and some people just wanna rest instead of listening to it non-stop!I think many of the people living close to it would appreciate it if you reduce the repetitions to 4 or 5 times instead?
