Capitall Marquees done a great job for our party, the staff where polite, on time, and all very helpful, it was a tricky area to erect the Marquee over a swimming pool, but everything was done with no fuss. I needed a Marquee for an 18th birthday party, after getting a few different quotes, I went with Capital Marquees, I spoke with Kay who was so friendly & accommodating from start to finish. They are local company & also they couldn’t be beaten on price! On the day of the build Rick & his team, worked tirelessly for 7 hours in the heat, building the marquee . They suggested ideas from positioning of the dance floor , & where best for the openings .(I wanted 2 openings) In order to give me the best use of the space, that would suit my garden layout. Rick and his team were brilliant at both assembling and dismantling. They worked SO hard and had to carry everything ( most of which looked very heavy) through the garage and kitchen and a very long way down the garden. They were polite, professional, good humoured and nothing was too much trouble. The company was easy to deal with and Kay in the office and Ian were most helpful. On reflection I think the marquee would have been better used for serving drinks and milling about rather than seating guests to eat (tables and chairs too close together in one of the smaller marquees) but it was a good, attractive structure and easy to use. My name is Jill Toocaram from Castle Hedingham and last weekend we had a small marquee from Capital Marquees. It was an excellent service from start to finish. The site manager Rick Sharp was very efficient and professional and was very cheerful and made helpful suggestions as to positioning and showed me how to open the sides up if we wished. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with the marquee. Eventhough there was storm with very fast winds, the marquee stood strong and we could barely even tell how windy it was outside. They also provided a heater which kept us all really warm. The marquee itself was amazingly put and it was very elegant on the inside and especially very well lit. However when it comes to communication you’re in for a shock, and I feel like we were taken advantage of last minute, and thus had to pay more. Overall the actual quality of the marquee was good, however the service was appalling! Our garden is on a slope so we were prepared for the floor to be a little uneven, Ian surveyed the site and promised they would do their best to make it level, however the guys that fitted the marquee made no attempt to level the floor and ran it to the garden, saying they don’t offer anything else, the lighting was also a problem as all the lights were on one switch so either stark lighting or darkness despite dimmer lighting advertised and paid for. A polite call was made to Ian and he said he would call in the following day, he didn’t show up! We then called and texted several times to amend the lighting at least but were ignored. Very disappointing as before we secured the booking we were being called daily by Kay to secure a deal. We will not use again and will not recommend. A little advice to you Ian, common decency and communication are key, we were nothing but patient and polite and didn’t deserve to be ignored! Not the way to treat customers. More...

I hired a 12x3 marqee from Capital Marqees for my daughter’s engagement party on the 17th December 2023. I was worried about my guests feeling cold. Ian suggested I use the diesel space heater which I did, and my event went seamlessly. The set up and dismantle was done promptly, the guys arrived before 9am and wasted no time. The quality of the marqee was brilliant, my garden floor was a bit uneven so I had wooden floors and carpet. This is one of the reasons I went with capital Marqees due to the weather and having a safe hard flooring.
