Laura
This is my first experience with any kind of therapy and I don't think I could have picked a better therapist. With Natalie, I feel listened to and supported while I process uncomfortable truths and unfamiliar ideas/feelings. Natalie gives guidance when I unpick my mind and helps me to find answers from within myself. I am given space when I need to process ideas too. She offers as much explanation as needed and supports me when I come to conclusions which helps my anxiety. This pleasant and supportive approach has helped me explore both myself as an individual and how I operate within my current relationship. More...

Chris
Working with Natalie Jane through CBT has been incredibly supportive. In just a few short weeks, I’ve become more self aware of my unhelpful belief patterns and gained practical strategies to change this. It became apparent that the anxiety that I feel through certain situations and the way I approach these and think has all been rooted in childhood trauma experiences. Although difficult to discuss, Natalie put me at ease throughout and I feel much more confident already. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate and effective therapy. More...

What do you love most about your job?
What I love most is being able to witness those little shifts when someone starts to see their own strength again. It might be a softer smile, a moment of realisation, or a new sense of calm in their voice. Those moments are so special because they show that change is happening from the inside out. I feel incredibly privileged to be trusted with people’s stories and to walk alongside them as they find their way through challenges. Every journey is different, and it is such a joy to see someone begin to feel lighter, more confident, and more at home in themselves.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Calm Minds was born from a deep belief that everyone deserves a safe space where they can be heard, understood, and supported without judgement. I wanted to create a practice where people feel genuinely seen as whole human beings, not just as a set of problems to fix. Over the years, I saw how powerful it is when someone is met with compassion and the right kind of guidance, and I knew I wanted to offer that in a way that was truly personal and flexible. Starting my own business allowed me to shape a service that puts people first, tailors support to individual needs, and creates an environment where real, lasting change can happen.
Why should our clients choose you?
Choosing the right counsellor or coach is about more than qualifications – it is about finding someone who will truly see you, hear you, and walk beside you without judgement. At Calm Minds, you are never just another appointment in the diary. You are a person with a unique story, and your journey matters deeply to me.
What sets me apart is the way I combine professional expertise with genuine human connection. I bring a wealth of training across multiple approaches – including Schema Informed Coaching, Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Coaching, Somatic Trauma Informed Coaching, DBT Informed strategies, CBT, EFT, Timeline Therapy, and Narcissistic Abuse Recovery – which means your support is entirely tailored to you rather than a one-size-fits-all all method.
But it is more than just knowledge and techniques. I understand what it means to face pain, feel lost, or carry the weight of past experiences, and I know the courage it takes to reach out for help. My approach is warm, intuitive, and deeply personal. I am not afraid to have the honest conversations, to sit with you in the hard moments, and to celebrate your progress every step of the way.
When you choose Calm Minds, you are choosing someone who will believe in your ability to heal even when you cannot yet see it yourself – someone who will stand in your corner, help you reconnect with your own strength, and guide you towards a life that feels calmer, more confident, and truly yours.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes, all my work is online via Zoom, so I can support clients anywhere in the UK and English speakers abroad. Individuals and couples can join from home, and couples can join from separate locations if needed. Book a free 30-minute consultation first to make sure we're the right fit.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All sessions are online via Zoom, so you can have therapy from wherever you feel safest and most comfortable, with no travel. Your privacy matters just as much: sessions are confidential, and WhatsApp support between sessions works within clear, agreed boundaries that we set together at the start.

Calm Minds is a safe and welcoming space where every person is met with compassion, respect, and understanding. Our work is rooted in a person-centred approach, meaning your experiences, feelings, and goals shape the path we take together. Here, you are not a problem to be fixed, but a whole person with unique strengths and potential, and our role is to walk alongside you as you explore, heal, and grow.
Drawing on a broad range of modalities, including Schema Informed Coaching, Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Coaching, Somatic Trauma Informed Coaching, and DBT Informed strategies, we tailor every session to your needs in the moment. This integrative style ensures we can meet you exactly where you are, whether you are seeking to navigate relationship challenges, recover from trauma, manage anxiety, or reconnect with your sense of self.
At Calm Minds, the therapeutic space is gentle but empowering, a place where you can express yourself freely without fear of judgment, and where your story is heard with genuine care. We believe healing happens through connection, trust, and a deep respect for your pace. Together, we create a supportive environment that nurtures self-awareness, strengthens resilience, and inspires lasting change.
DBT
At Calm Minds, our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy service is designed to help people who feel overwhelmed by their emotions, struggle with intense mood changes, or find it difficult to maintain stable relationships. DBT is an evidence-based form of therapy that combines acceptance of yourself as you are with encouragement and support to make positive changes. It is especially effective for people experiencing emotional dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviours, or the impact of past trauma.
DBT teaches four key skill areas. Emotional regulation helps you to understand, name, and manage strong feelings so they do not control your actions. Distress tolerance provides healthy ways to cope with painful situations without making them worse. Mindfulness builds the ability to stay present and connected in the moment rather than becoming lost in past regrets or future worries. Interpersonal effectiveness helps you to communicate clearly, set healthy boundaries, and maintain more balanced relationships.
In our work together, these skills are not just discussed in theory. They are practiced, explored, and applied to your real life challenges so that you can start using them straight away. This practical approach can bring relief from emotional chaos, help to reduce impulsive reactions, and allow you to respond to situations with greater clarity and control.
At Calm Minds, DBT is more than learning techniques. It is a safe and supportive relationship where you are heard and understood without judgment. Together, we create a space for healing, self-discovery, and lasting change so you can move towards a life that feels calmer, more stable, and more meaningful.
CBT
At Calm Minds, we offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, a structured and practical approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours influence one another. CBT is one of the most widely researched and effective forms of therapy and can be especially helpful for those dealing with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, phobias, stress, relationship difficulties, or the impact of past experiences on present life.
CBT works by identifying unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour that keep you feeling stuck. Together we explore the situations that trigger distress, the beliefs and thoughts that arise in those moments, and the ways those thoughts influence your emotions and actions. With this understanding, we can begin to gently challenge unhelpful thinking and replace it with perspectives that are more balanced, realistic, and compassionate.
You will also learn practical tools to help you respond differently in the moments that matter most. This might include strategies for problem solving, relaxation techniques, reframing anxious thoughts, or developing coping plans for difficult situations. Every tool is tailored to your personal needs and applied to real situations in your life, so the progress you make in sessions can continue outside them.
At Calm Minds, our CBT sessions are not just about changing thoughts, they are about helping you feel more in control, less overwhelmed, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges. We work at your pace in a space that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely supportive, with the shared goal of helping you create lasting change and a stronger sense of wellbeing.
EFT
At Calm Minds, we offer Emotional Freedom Techniques, often called tapping, a gentle and empowering approach that combines the principles of psychology with acupressure. EFT can help with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, stress, phobias, trauma, grief, limiting beliefs, and emotional blocks that seem hard to shift. Many people also find it helpful for improving confidence, easing physical tension connected to stress, and supporting recovery from difficult life experiences.
EFT works by focusing on a troubling thought, feeling, or memory while lightly tapping on specific meridian points on the face and upper body. This process helps to calm the nervous system, reduce the intensity of emotional distress, and create a sense of balance in both mind and body. Over time, it can help to gently release the emotional charge connected to painful experiences so they no longer hold the same power over you.
In our sessions, we move at your pace, ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout the process. Each session is guided by your personal needs and goals, allowing us to focus on the issues that matter most to you. EFT can be a powerful way to uncover and resolve the root causes of distress rather than just managing the symptoms.
At Calm Minds, EFT is offered in a warm and accepting environment where your feelings are heard and respected. It is a gentle yet deeply effective way to let go of emotional burdens, increase resilience, and create space for new possibilities, so you can move forward with greater ease and confidence.
Time line Therapy
At Calm Minds, we offer Timeline Therapy, a powerful approach that focuses on identifying and releasing the emotional blocks and limiting beliefs that have been shaped by your past experiences. It can be particularly effective for those who feel held back by unresolved emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, guilt, or shame, as well as for people who want to let go of self doubt, unhelpful patterns, or the lingering effects of past trauma.
Timeline Therapy works by helping you access your unconscious mind to locate the root cause of a troubling emotion or belief. We then guide you through a process of reframing that experience and releasing the negative emotions attached to it. This creates the opportunity to replace old patterns with healthier, more empowering ways of thinking and feeling. The process is gentle and respectful, allowing you to explore your personal history without reliving painful events.
This approach can bring clarity to why you react the way you do in certain situations, and it can create lasting change by addressing the original source rather than only focusing on present day symptoms. Many people find that after Timeline Therapy they feel lighter, more at peace, and more in control of their future choices.
At Calm Minds, Timeline Therapy is offered within a safe and supportive space where you are heard without judgement and guided at your own pace. Together, we work to help you release the emotional weight of the past so you can step into the present with a renewed sense of freedom, confidence, and purpose.
Somatic Trauma Informed
At Calm Minds, we offer Somatic Trauma Informed Therapy , a compassionate and body centred approach to healing that recognises how trauma is not only held in the mind but also in the body and nervous system. This approach is especially helpful for those who experience anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, disconnection from self, difficulties in relationships, or the lingering effects of past traumatic events.
Somatic Trauma Informed Therapy combines gentle, guided awareness with practical tools that help you notice and understand the signals your body is sending. Together, we explore how your body responds to stress, triggers, and emotions, and we work on ways to restore a sense of safety and regulation. This might include breathwork, grounding techniques, movement, sensory awareness, and other body based practices designed to release stored tension and build resilience.
The work is paced according to your comfort and readiness, ensuring you feel safe, respected, and in control at every step. Because trauma can impact how we think, feel, and respond to the world, our sessions focus on creating a foundation of stability before moving into deeper exploration. This helps prevent re traumatisation and supports sustainable healing.
At Calm Minds, Somatic Trauma Informed Therapy offers a space for you to reconnect with your body, regain a sense of safety, and develop a stronger capacity to navigate life’s challenges. It is about more than overcoming the past; it is about building a future where you feel grounded, empowered, and more fully yourself.
Narcissistic Abuse Recovery
At Calm Minds, we provide specialist support for those recovering from narcissistic abuse. Narcissistic abuse can leave deep emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical scars. It is a form of relational trauma that can cause confusion, self doubt, anxiety, loss of confidence, and a profound disconnection from your own identity. Often, survivors find themselves questioning their reality, struggling with feelings of worthlessness, and finding it difficult to trust themselves or others.
As a Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Specialist, our work is focused on helping you understand the dynamics of abusive relationships, recognise the manipulative tactics that may have been used against you, and gently untangle the web of control and confusion. This process is not about blaming yourself for what happened, but about reclaiming your sense of self, your voice, and your autonomy.
Recovery involves more than simply leaving the relationship. Narcissistic abuse can rewire the way you think, feel, and react, often creating patterns that continue to affect your relationships, self esteem, and emotional wellbeing. Our sessions focus on building awareness, strengthening boundaries, addressing trauma responses such as people pleasing or hypervigilance, and restoring your confidence and trust in yourself.
At Calm Minds, you will find a space that is understanding, validating, and free from judgment. We recognise the courage it takes to speak your truth and to begin rebuilding your life after such a damaging experience. Our goal is to walk alongside you as you heal from the past, develop healthier patterns, and create a future where your needs, feelings, and worth are honoured.
