What do you love most about your job?
Facing a new challenge. Although the typical extension on a 1970's + house is a common task for us to complete, I do love to see the unique buildings and work that come forward.
An example would be a plot of land a customer came to me with, in the centre of Malvern. The land had 3 previous architects over 3 years, all of which had failed to gain permission for a new dwelling - BJAD were more than happy to take on the challenge and prove our capabilities. Within 10 months, the client had sold the plot with planning permission for a 3 bedroom home.
I also love when a customer allows us free reign over a design, permission to design something truly beautiful, in most cases the client would have their own idea of the perfect space - yet when they are greeted with the design from us, they are overwhelmed and approving of a new scheme they would never have dreamt of.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Lack of faith in large practices.
I came from a background of working with large practices in the three counties, those which are most notable and you've likely already found in your searches. Although it was a good experience to see a large group of designers working together, the ethics behind the projects were not something I wanted to be a part of, I wanted to change the way people think of architects - both from a clients perspective and builders.
Many charge 10% for their fee, this is morally wrong in my opinion. I offer fair prices that reflect the true amount of time I spend to complete, you will also get a one to one experience, whereby we are always their to answer your questions and give you piece of mind.

BJAD is new, innovative and enthusiastic.
You will not get boring designs with us and you will have modern information given to you. We produce basic CAD plans, fully dimensioned for builders, but also complete 3D visuals if required as well.
We will not charge you an arm and a leg, our prices reflect the time we spend on your project.
