Adam Hedges - Golf Professional

The short story: Adam is an excellent coach and I highly recommend his services.

The long story: After playing my first ever round of golf at the North Downs GC earlier this year I noticed the AH swing studio. I got in touch with Adam to help me try to improve and actually enjoy playing the game.

I initially had a 1 hour session in the studio where Adam was able to assess my current ability (or lack of) and start to explain one or two fundamental areas to work on. I found Adam's professional approach along with his easy going personality made the lesson feel a lot more relaxed than I had originally envisaged, and I subsequently decided to sign up to more lessons.

Lesson structure:

I have since had a further 5x two hour lessons, with each one gradually developing on the prior session. These longer lessons are typically structured to include some time out on the course learning chipping and/or putting techniques which also gives me the opportunity to ask Adam all sorts of questions and get an insight into how he thinks about certain scenarios, as well as some time in the studio focusing on the long game where Adam explains what the trackman data is showing and how this correlates to my swing.

During the lessons in the studio Adam will record some shots to help analyse my swing, explain what he is seeing, and then guide me on the adjustments he would like me to work on.

Post lesson videos:

After each lesson Adam sends at least one follow up video (sometimes more if we have worked on different aspects, ie one for putting, one for long game etc) and this has been incredibly valuable as a point of reference to remind myself of what we have worked on, and I now have a library of my progression that I go back to when there are times that I have encountered issues in between lessons.

Results:

I am over the moon with the results. In the short few months that I have been working with Adam I have been able to understand the fundamentals and now I am starting to enjoy golf.

There have been times when Adam has introduced new concepts and it has taken me time to adjust, but Adam has patiently worked with me and I am really now seeing the rewards.

It is obvious that Adam genuinely cares about his students progression, as when there have been challenging sessions he has followed up afterwards with further thoughts on areas to work on outside of lessons, and he encourages his students to send videos of practice for him to assess (free of charge).

I consider Adam to be very reasonably priced for the quality of service.

Adam is a brilliant golf coach who has a full understanding of all areas of the game. He has always provided brilliant feedback which is important for any level of golfer. The lessons usually are 1 hour long but he sends an in depth recap of the lesson after. It’s very easy for old tendencies to creep back in but re looking back on the recap video is really helpful. I met Adam A couple years ago. Last year in 2023 got to know him a bit better .had two. Two hour lesson with him over a period of 2 months. And wow what a difference he made to, my game .he done two videos which I watched,and then practised. In four months I dropped 6 shots from 18-12. Didn't quite win any big tournaments . i have had Adam as my coach for the last 3 months every lesson i have i improve a lot just gets better every time can't thank him enough for improving my game.

Working with Adam is great and a pleasure, not only his technical knowledge of the game but also his patience. I started with Adam as a newbie and we have come a long way in a quick time.

Really enjoyed my first lesson with Adam. Throughout the session Adam would give clear pointers and direction helping with: Gripping the club correctly, addressing the ball, foot placement, weight distribution through my hips and feet, swing and body position etc.

Had a great lesson with Adam. I was given some clear advice and easy drills to practice at home. He also makes himself contactable to offer advice outside of lessons, which has been really helpful.

Adam was very polite and understanding if my playing level and my medical issues that restrict my swing. He video recorded my swing from different angles and reviewed them with and gave aome tips to improve my grip and stance and was able to hit the ball a lot better.
