How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Check for enough headroom (usually at least 2.2m) solid foundations, and a roof in good condition. Ensure that the walls and floor are dry and structurally sound, and that services like electricity, water and drainage can be connected. Planning permission or building control approval may also be required.

To make sure there is 2.2m of head room ideally
To see if you need and structural work for a traditional cut roof
To plan and insure there is access for stairs
To insure that the existing floor joist are strong enough to take the weight of a conversion
To inure there are plans in place to get enough light with windows and dormer
Planning and regulations need to be put in place and building regulations for approval in your area
