What do you love most about your job?

Doing what we love each day and never ceasing to find new ideas, products and finishes to show our clients.

What inspired you to start your own business?

With significant experience in the residential market, we know that we have a lot to offer and can use our own studio to develop designs in through our own method and in our own style. We felt that working within the confines of other businesses did not allow us to undertake a process which was as professional or considered as we wanted, and that by having our own studio we could hone every aspect of the process, from the way we design and present work to clients to the way we manage construction costs and on-site activities. Stylistically, we feel we have more freedom to work on different ideas and create something interesting and innovative for our clients. We want to develop good relationships with our clients and by being our own bosses we have a greater power to do this.

Why should our clients choose you?

- We are experienced.
- We are creative and innovative.
- We are honest and straightforward.
- We make great effort to explain our working process to clients.
- We are hardworking and care about keeping our clients happy.
- We start all projects from a position of understanding what client budgets will allow.
- We have designed our company setup and processes to be lower-cost, allowing us to pass savings on to clients.
- We are green and care about the environment.

Here are some aspects that are important to consider when opting for an architectural services firm. It is important that the architect is registered and provide you with a portfolio of work with recent images. It is also recommended to complete a site visit where the architect might point out the particular features of that project.

Architects need to monitor the project throughout so it is also important that they have a good working relationship with experienced contractors.

Some architectural services firms only do international work. If you have a small project, you might want to consider a small firm that can give you its full attention.

A side return extension is considered to be permitted development (PD). It does not need planning permission as long as the extension is within two metres of a boundary and the maximum eaves height is no higher than three metres.

Architectural services firms can provide complete drawing and design services, submit planning applications, check building regulations, undertake Structural Engineer calculations for loft conversions, extensions, internal alterations and new builds.

Architects also manage the entire process with the local authorities and should keep clients informed of the progress of their application along the way.
