Opinions begin to form and judgements start from the moment someone looks at a portrait photograph or head shot. It might not be fair but it is human nature. If you are ‘the business’ it’s especially important that you look ‘the business’, which means a picture portraying your authority and professionalism but looking approachable and friendly. The author’s portrait photograph on a blog also has to give the reader a chance to begin their ‘engagement’.

It’s wonderful for everyone sharing a family celebration like a wedding or birthday party, especially when family and friends travel some distance to be together. I love photographing weddings, it’s a real privilege to be chosen to be part of the event. I capture the story by slipping into shadows and corners, discretely photographing the people, their delight, laughter, handshakes and kisses.

At a wedding I often find I can provide an extra service - stepping forward to support the bride and groom with a smile and reassurance.
