High Times Wedding Planners
Founded in 2009, originally through a love of marquee weddings, High Times is a Midlands based wedding planning and entertainment company. Since starting, High Times quickly grew by offering couples the flexibility to use us in whatever capacity they needed, whether it be full planning, a PA service, taking care of the day, and even general ‘dogsbody’! In 2011 we invested in an existing entertainment company, enabling us to offer a wider range of key suppliers 'in house'.
Following on from my client's wedding I wanted to send across some feedback and a thank you for the amazing job you did for their wedding catering.
Firstly, when I came to you with the request for an Italian styled sharing menu, it was so refreshing to not be turned away but instead the response be of excitement to create something bespoke for my client’s day. The menu you created perfectly matched what they had in mind and offered both the level of luxury they wanted combined with the homely Italian style.
They loved the tasting experience and particularly found it refreshing that Charlotte let them enjoy the tasting in a private room (something the other caterers we sampled didn’t offer) so they could openly discuss the dishes and give honest feedback without the added pressure of being watched! Feedback was taken on board from the initial tasting and for their paid second tasting to finesse the details, they were 100% happy with the final menu and the fact all their feedback had been taken on board.
For the planning aspect, Charlotte was ever so calm and professional from offering site visits so she was familiar with the access points of the client’s home reception venue, through to the various number updates that were sent over. Charlotte and her team were on time for set up meaning I didn’t have to worry about chasing anyone and having Charlotte there on the day gave me the reassurance as a planner that the catering aspect of the day was in amazingly capable hands allowing me to fully focus on the other suppliers of the day.
With regards to the food on the day, it can be a worry that it doesn’t live up to the expectations from the tasting which can often be the case with increased numbers however, with Mat personally on site to deliver the exact menu he’d planned and cooked at the tastings, every dish left the ‘kitchen’ as it were at the tasting which you could see impressed the clients no end! They had compliments galore from guests and the main thing the client noted was the value for money was exceptional as there just seemed too much food! (never a problem in my eyes though!)
I also wanted to thank the staff for their professionalism and hard work on the day too- nothing was too much trouble including helping with movement of tables as a favour before their job started.
Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Portfolio Events for my client’s weddings and Claire and Andrew have asked me to feedback a glowing review from them too.
