We needed an electrician to come out to fix a plug socket in our bedroom that hasn't been live since we moved in. I applied for the fault to be fixed on check a trade, and within half an hour LED electrics contacted me. Darren even managed to come the next day to suit us (on a weekend). He was well priced and made me feel at ease, as a lady in the house on my own Darren made me feel at ease and was really chatty. He was clean and tidy, offering multiple options to solve our problem. Would highly recommend.

Had the guys round to sort electrics in the garden and the garage, new outdoor sockets and new lighting in the garage with new switches. Absolutely cracking job, no bother, quick and efficient and little disruption and really friendly. Had them back to relocate a light fitting on the landing and a new light switch in the dining room and again, on time or early, really friendly and efficient. Very reasonable rates. Will definitely have them back for any jobs we need. Really highly recommend.

i needed a complete rewire doing on one of my properties and was let down by another contractor. I called Taylors who came out to quote me really quickly and the price was reasonable too. The guy even managed to finish the job quicker than he originally estimated, and really went the extra mile for me. The next time I need any work doing I will definately call them 1st.Thank you.,
Is it legal to do electrical work yourself?
Whilst it’s legal to complete small electrical works yourself, you’ll need to be certain that it complies with BS7671. If the work doesn’t meet this standard, you are breaking the law as well as putting your home at risk. If you decide to sell your home, you will be asked to provide certificates for any electrical work that has been done. You may be asked to pay for an inspection if you have done electrical work yourself.
How much do electricians cost per hour?
The cost of hiring an electrician will depend on the type of work that needs doing and your location. The average hourly cost of hiring an electrician is £40 - £70 per hour. You’ll also find that electricians will charge more for emergency call outs compared to planned works. The best way to find out the cost of hiring an electrician is to request a quote from a professional.
How do you know if your fuse board needs upgrading?
If your fuse board has a wooden backing or cast-iron switches, this is a good sign that it is old and needs to be replaced. These fuse boxes typically don’t have RCDs – that’s a residual current device. An RCD will switch off your electricity automatically if a fuse blows, helping to prevent electric shocks. If you’re unsure whether your fuse board needs to be upgraded, it’s always best to contact an electrician to arrange an inspection.
