Right from our first contact with Alan he has been friendly, professional and very helpful. He made a special trip to the wedding and reception venues (Newark registry office and the Deincourt hotel) to check out any particular requirements and to ascertain the best photograph opportunities. On the day he somehow managed to be ever present at all the key moments, but somehow so discreet that I, my now husband and all the guests were able to be completely natural and relaxed. He had taken the trouble to ask us for a list of any particular group photos we wanted, so we have all the 'key players' as well as a wonderful selection of wonderfully informal, relaxed pictures of us and all the guests. The shots of the young children are particularly delightful. His fees and prices are very competitive. Before the wedding Alan came to the church and the reception venue with us where we discussed where we would have the photos and what photos we wanted this really put me at ease for the day as everything was so organised. What do you love most about your job?
It's definitely spending time to get to know the couple and their guests, and helping to guide them towards a great day and a great selection of images.
It certainly isn't anything technical - though you can rest assured after over 700 weddings I can get a great shot in any conditions
What inspired you to start your own business?
In fairness I am living the dream. From the age of around 10 when I was lucky enough to be given a camera that I had asked for - my ambition was to become a professional photographer.
From age 11 onwards I would take notes in the library from the books of great photographers - then go out in to the world and try to emulate them.
Funnily enough I have never wanted to be particularly wealthy - just to enjoy taking great shots and creating great memories.
Why should our clients choose you?
There is no replacement for full-time professional experience. Whether it is a bright sunny day - or maybe not (!) your wedding day deserves a real professional who can get the best from your special day! All this and reasonably priced too!
If you want great shots, taken in a friendly, relaxed and cheerful (sometimes cheeky) way that inspires your guests then please get in touch.
However you want to remember your day - laughing, relaxed or maybe a little more traditional - trust me I have covered more than 700 weddings and can accommodate your day just how you want it to be.
(BTW - no secrets, no hidden extras, no watermarks across images, no running away at 7pm if you've booked all-day, no demanding you pretend to dance early....and when you ask for a quote it will be all-inclusive!)

Alan has a refreshing down-to-earth approach to weddings that combines traditional quality and all-important shots with relaxed informal images that capture your day in style.
He is often quoted as "prompted not posed" meaning that ideas for wedding images are suggested by him but not tightly choreographed ("this hand here - that leg there", is just not his thing).
He considers himself a professional full-time photographer who photographs weddings - rather than someone involved in some kind of "wedding industry" and is often told he has done far more for the couple than they ever expected from any photographer, for less than they expected to invest.
It s worth noting that despite not "selling on price" - he is actually incredibly affordable for such an experience full-time professional

Alan is a former chief photographer to a leading regional newspaper, and has carried out thousands of press and PR shoots. Further enquiries are always welcome.
He also works for a number of property agents supplying high-quality interior/exterior and drone images.
Alan works for a small number of businesses requiring product photography with both simple and lifestyle shoots - he considers occasional new clients with interesting products.
