Vexatas is Latin for problem solving and that's what I aim to help you with; solving your problems about how you feel, how you behave or act (or don't), how you see and perceive things.
I started my working career nursing in a paediatric department of a large hospital and became interested in developing my skills to provide greater emotional support to the children, young people and families I was caring for.

I contacted Lisa to help my daughter, she instantly made my daughter feel at ease and set a warm and accepting environment where my daughter feels safe and free to openly discuss everything on her mind. Lisa is beyond patient and understanding with the fact my daughter struggles to focus and keep still for any length of time. In the few sporadic appointments I manage to organise myself to make Lisa has mad a valuable impact and I’m very glad we have found her. More...

Lisa has been fantastic. She has worked with us both and helped our situation immensely. Very professional, empathetic, completely non-judgemental with a wealth of experience to support her work. I don't know where we might have been without her kindness and care. Thank you. More...

Relationship and Marriage Counselling
My daughter absolutely loves Lisa, from the moment she met her. She calls her her ‘worry woman’, as she tells me and others that she has lots of worries.
If I have anything specific that I think needs addressing, Lisa brings them up with my daughter in her session, and she actually takes all the advice and guidance in. We’ve only been going to Lisa for a few months, but my daughter looks forward to her sessions, and they are helping.

Lisa has always had a welcoming and warm environment where no concerns or worries are off the cards to discuss. She has always made me feel accepted and I never feel any judgement about anything raised during sessions. She is also incredibly understanding towards scheduling conflicts, which I hugely appreciate! If you’re wondering whether Lisa is a good option for counselling I cannot recommend her enough. More...

Lisa was a lot of help and contacted me very quickly. She offered me a safe space to talk about my feelings, and I will definitely be keeping in touch.
What do you love most about your job?
I genuinely like helping people to talk about their feelings, think about their choices or their behaviour, and make positive changes in their lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always worked to make a difference. I wanted to work with people to help move them forward in the ways they wanted to in their lives. Through counselling, I knew that I could help people understand what was holding them back, what was motivating their thought processes and why they reacted/didn't react/felt as they did, helping them to understand themselves and others.
Why should our clients choose you?
I can't promise that I can solve everything in your life, but I can help you to see it differently. I can provide you with the emotional tools, resources and knowledge to help you; develop resilience, restructure and reframe your thoughts, challenge your core beliefs and unhelpful thinking styles.
Everything will be done at your own pace, in a confidential, warm and supportive environment.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes, I have an office base in Bridgend, South Wales where I see clients face to face, and am also happy to offer online sessions via Zoom, Skype, Teams or WhatsApp.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
During the covid restrictions, we complied with all of the regulations. Everyone at the Therapy Centre is Covid trained.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy - CBT
CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle.
CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.
