Our girl is big and bouncy. After a hard misunderstood life she has finally found her happy places at home on the sofa and of course the wild dog! She’s had a fantastic weekend at boarding and loves her day care sessions too! Whenever I collect her she is always wanting to stay. My dog spent two nights here in June 2024. We dropped him off on the Friday night. On Saturday, I received a picture and was told he had eaten fine and was happy. Great news 🙏 My brother collected him on Sunday at 3pm. I received a picture of the dog, and he had a large sore on his nose which looked fresh. This had not been mentioned on handover. I messaged to ask what had happened and was told that as the drop off time was close to his feeding time, my dog had tried to hide his food and grazed his nose doing so. This made no sense to me, as the graze was not there on the image I was sent on Sat morning, it had not been mentioned to me in the update (in fact, the update said he’d eaten well and was fine) and the sore itself looked fresh. They said it looked fresh as they’d cleaned it. I felt that they weren’t being truthful. When my brother got him home, my dog drank four full bowls of water and seemed very thirsty. His urine was also very dark, like he was dehydrated. I again messaged to ask about this and was told that they’d noticed he had drunk an awful lot. Again, this hadn’t been mentioned to me - and didn’t make sense with his urine being so dark. Overall, I’d never ever trust this place with my dog again. Our dog Winston’s stayed with Hayley and the team and had the best time! We meet a few weeks before the scheduled boarding and Hayley was lovely she showed us round the place and took us on the secure field where the dogs would play and it was lovely. The whole process was super easy with responsive messaging before and during the stay. We received picture updates and daily messages on how Winston was getting on. Winston can be nervous around other dogs but settled straight in with Hayley and her dogs. The pick up and drop off service was a life saver as it saved us so much time on the days we were leaving for our holiday! Hayley and her team are fabulous! My four year old spaniel has had trial over night stays at other providers and has failed as he cried all night, didn’t settle and missed us too much, he couldn’t stay overnight and any family plans/trips were not possible unless it was in dog friendly accommodation, which isn’t always practical! I was anxious to try anywhere else as as thought he would be the same. I thought we’d never get to go away! A friend recommended Hayley. I contacted her and straight away I could tell she’d be great. My two bullies stayed with Hayley for a couple of trial nights this month to see how they got on as one of them can be very anxious around new people and surroundings and don't do well in kennel environment. We have a 12 month Cane Corso that we struggled to board anywhere without meeting a long list of conditions. I can't recommend The Wild Dog enough. Hayley took fantastic care of my two dogs for 4 days. One had got sand in her eye the day before we were going away and Hayley kept the eye clean and prevented any further problems. She made us feel so at ease as she's so knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviours. We came away with a lot of great advice. My mum was nervous leaving me because I'm her baby. But she had absolutely nothing to worry about. I toddled off as soon as we arrived and I didn't look back. Mum and Dad recieved messages ... What do you love most about your job?
For me, it’s getting to spend every day doing something I genuinely love. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, both personally and professionally, and there’s nothing better than seeing a dog settle in, feel comfortable and enjoy their time with us.
I love getting to know each dog individually because no two are the same. Some want to be out exploring all day, some want constant cuddles, and others need a little more time and patience to feel confident. Being able to understand those differences and make sure every dog is happy, comfortable and cared for properly is the most rewarding part of what I do.
What inspired you to start your own business?
One of the biggest reasons I started The Wild Dog Ltd was because I realised how difficult it can be to find somewhere you genuinely trust to leave your dog.
There are lots of boarding options available, but I wanted to create somewhere run by someone who is genuinely a dog person and understands that dogs aren’t all the same. Different breeds have different needs, puppies need different care to older dogs, working breeds can have very different energy levels, and every dog has its own personality, temperament and routine.
With years of professional experience working with dogs, including as a qualified detection dog handler, I wanted to create the kind of service I would personally want for my own dogs — somewhere experienced, knowledgeable, safe and personal, where owners can go away knowing their dog is being properly understood rather than simply looked after.

We keep our numbers limited so we can provide genuinely individual care, and every dog is treated according to their own needs, personality, age and temperament. Dogs stay in a home environment with access to four acres of secure land, plenty of enrichment, exercise, countryside walks, playtime and, of course, lots of attention.
My professional background working with dogs also means I have experience understanding canine behaviour, body language, different breeds and temperaments, which gives owners extra reassurance when leaving their dog in our care.
We’re fully licensed and insured, offer free collection and drop-off, and above everything else, we genuinely care about giving every dog the safest, happiest and most enjoyable stay possible.

Our main services — including home dog boarding, pet sitting, pet taxi and wedding dog chaperoning — are provided in person so we can give dogs the hands-on care, supervision and attention they need.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
This is no longer applicable, as Covid-19 restrictions are no longer in place. However, we continue to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control throughout our premises to help keep both our clients and the dogs in our care safe.
Residential boarding
Here at The Wild Dog, we see all of your dogs as family members, we do not believe they should be kept in a kennel whist you are away. We collect and drop off your dog to ensure the pass over is as smooth and hassle free for yourselves as much possible. During their stay with us they will be staying in the homes of one of our trainers alongside them and their dogs, This is to reduce any stress and anxiety as much as possible whilst being away from you. Count this as a holiday for your dog. You will be in contact with your trainer throughout their stay, who will send you regular updates of your dog to also give you a peace of mind. Our essentials programme is perfect for puppies from 12 weeks up to 6 months old. This is where we focus on teaching your puppy the vital commands at this early learning stage.

Tailor Made
- Tailor Made
Tailor made is a programme which is set to your specific needs, this can range from a 3 week training course up to 6 weeks. Tailor made caters for all dogs, of any age and any size. We can help advise the duration your dog may need based on the particular training and commands you require. Rehabilitation
- Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation progromme is a 4 to 8 week course which specifies in dog behavioural issues. This includes human/dog reactivity, anxiety and also lead reactivity however this course is not restricted to only these behavioural issues. The nature of your dog will determine how long it will need to be on this course for, where we focus on correcting these
negative behaviours, to obtain a better quality of life for you and your dog. The rehabilitation programme will need to be discussed with a member of our team prior to your booking.
