Initial communication from firm was very good. Slight confusion over address but that may have been my fault. Two old guys showed up (roughly same age as myself). Had a good look at what was going and staying before deciding on a course of action. All content was well wrapped and boxed as appropriate. I can’t recommend Purdie Worldwide enough. From start to finish, they made what could have been a really stressful move feel smooth and well organised. The advice we got beforehand was spot on and clearly comes from a lot of experience. One thing that really stood out was the pre-collection of non-essential items the day before. It made such a difference and took a lot of the pressure off moving day itself, which everyone appreciated. On the day, Luke, Mikey, and Jason were brilliant. The lads we had were outstanding, Luke, Stevie and Jason they turned up as promised and they worked like trojans both at our old house and with the moving a lorry full of our stuff into our new home with no complaints and everything went where it was supposed to despite some of it not having been labelled by us! James and the guys worked very hard and efficiently over the two days. I had two very heavy pieces of furniture that needed to be moved, both from an upstairs bedroom. One piece had to go upstairs in the new house and the other piece was a large wardrobe that needed to be dismantled before moving then put back together after unloading. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them. Everything was packed very carefully and boxes were labelled as to which room they were to go to. From start to finish the service from Purdie was excellent: professional, efficient, and most importantly for me, the team took incredible care with our belongings. The entire moving and packing service gave me peace of mind and freed up my time to focus on my kids instead of spending weeks packing up boxes! On moving day, we were fully moved into the new house in time for me to do the afternoon school run - trampoline, bikes and all in their places in the garden and shed! I was so impressed. By the end of moving day, all our furniture had been placed and set up by the team, and it then took me less than 3 days to fully unpack owing to the organised manner in which the Purdie team left everything for us. What inspired you to start your own business?
My Grandfather started Matt Purdie & Sons back in 1960 originally as a Coal Merchant. He supplied the local towns with fuel for their fires with his modest coal truck.
Ever the gentleman, Matt was kind enough to start ferrying furniture on the back of his coal lorry, for those looking to move house or small goods.
