From start to finish the service from Purdie was excellent: professional, efficient, and most importantly for me, the team took incredible care with our belongings. The entire moving and packing service gave me peace of mind and freed up my time to focus on my kids instead of spending weeks packing up boxes! On moving day, we were fully moved into the new house in time for me to do the afternoon school run - trampoline, bikes and all in their places in the garden and shed! I was so impressed. By the end of moving day, all our furniture had been placed and set up by the team, and it then took me less than 3 days to fully unpack owing to the organised manner in which the Purdie team left everything for us. We used Purdies three times already - one was in the context of an international relocation and the other two were to put our things in and out of storage in Scotland. From the initial consultation about my moving requirements to the move to my new home, the team from in the office to the removers were helpful, respectful and efficient and with good humour which made what is deemed a stressful time moving house to go very smoothly. The price was also very competitive compared to other companies. The team also moved furniture from my house to my son’s new home around the same time and this again happened very smoothly. I have already wrote a review on Google but,to summarise Purdies Removal Service is quite honestly a pleasure to do business with. From the first meeting with Robert who came to give a estimate to the actual moving date l had questions, and everyone was politely and kindly taken into consideration. They also kept to their word concerning pricing. The men came at the exact time on the day and were friendly and made sure they kept everything clean(something l was worried about) removed all items carefully and even helped beyond my expectations. I was relocating to Canada in 2023 I had long known about Purdies as many many years ago when my parents were moving they had contacted Purdies they were excellent then and are excellent now. From start to finish the service was superb I had lots of questions and they were answered promptly the employee I was dealing with was Gemma her knowledge friendliness were second to none nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. Unfortunately we were in a position that we had to come back to Scotland in 2025. How did I do that from Canada I didn’t know any companies so my first port of call or email was Gemma at Purdies. Sure enough she was on the ball got me sorted straightaway with a local shipping agent and guided me through the process all over again. The return process was made so easy through the knowledge and expertise. Both crews that dealt with my shipment leaving and coming back were friendly helpful and got straight on the job again the can do attitude is perfect just what you need as moving is such a stressful situation so all the reassurance and communication gave me great confidence that I had chosen the correct company for my relocation I honestly can’t praise Purdies enough and if I am ever in the position where I will be moving again they would be my go to company absolutely 100 percent More...

Excellent service from all at Purdie's, right from initial consultation and the quote for removals, with everything fully explained though to arranging, rearranging and re-rearranging the dates then onto the move itself. Our removal team (Luke and Simon) were 1st class, turned up on time, did what needed to be done quickly and cleanly both loading and unloading. The whole process including the journey of 400+ miles resulted in absolutely no damage to anything. Quick follow up some 48 hours after the move from me to the team because I couldn't find something was answered promptly, with the exact location in the new house (I had mislaid it, it was exactly where they said it would be). It was great dealing with a company that was familiar with the tricky logistics of moving over 400 miles. My first contact was with the owner who even knew the area we were moving from. Very helpful, friendly and competitively priced. On the day of the move they team arrived earlier than anticipated but we had hoped they would so were ready and waiting. The guys were really cheerful and friendly and took great care of everything and particularly our more valued items. When they came to drop off a couple of days later they were super helpful in positioning some of our heavy items and putting beds back together - clearly very experienced. We first put things into storage with Purdies when we moved house in December 2005 (to a smaller house). It was all there until we moved again in July 2023 and for convenience put more stuff into storage - so at one point we had 2 self-storage units and 7 storage containers which held stuff from time of the 2023 move. After 2 years in the new (current) house we have finally finished recovering all that stuff, getting it back one unit at a time and used it or moved it on (about 95%) . During these 20 years we did add and remove some stuff to/from storage. Purdies also handled the actual moves for us, including wrapping and packing many of our possessions. In all that time and all that activity Purdies staff were always friendly, polite, and efficient. Nothing has been damaged, either in storage or during the moves. Just remembered about a year ago a Purdie van and a van in front of me had a collision where they smashed each others wing mirrors off, the debris flew back, hit my car and damaged a lot of the paint. Not only did the Purdie van not stop at the site of the accident which was/is illegal, when I called them for information about the incident they denied anything happened at all and as neither them, nor the other van accept responsibility for causing damage my car still remains damaged. Thanks lads. If you want to do business with a company that conducts themselves like this; dangerous driving and covering up accidents then hopefully your home issuance covers moving. EDIT, As if this response from (let me check) the owner of this business isn't enough to put you off then I'm not sure what will do it. Unprofessional, childish and amateur. As purdie has gone from out right denying this incident at the time to apparently knowing all about it, my guess is purdie vehicles damage a lot of property so having generic responses to these kind issues as brought up in the review is what? Standard business practice? The incident was all registered with insurance at the time and the calls I made to purdie were recorded for insurance purposes. Their van did drive off and the other vehicle involved had to go and chase down the purdie van that again did not stop at the accident I was present at, the other vehicle would be able clarify. Im sure they'll remember as mentioned in the response, their wing mirror was ripped off by the purdie van. I got receipts is all. Also green check marks don't really mean much do they ....for example ✅ Purdie Worldwide love Nigel Farage See you can put any old nonsense beside them although I fear my use of them is more inline with the truth than your use of them. My Grandfather started Matt Purdie & Sons back in 1960 originally as a Coal Merchant. He supplied the local towns with fuel for their fires with his modest coal truck.
Ever the gentleman, Matt was kind enough to start ferrying furniture on the back of his coal lorry, for those looking to move house or small goods.
