NMS Engineering did a structural inspection and report of my home following a surveyors report which indicated complex structural issues. From the beginning, NMS were professional, courteous, and kind. Their approach was systematic, clear, and evidently based on a deep understanding of construction and engineering. Their report was concise and prompt. As a lay person, I did not fully appreciate many of the issues affecting my home. They took the time however to break down complex issues into simple concepts and this really helped in making major decisions on the property.

I decided to ask NMS to do the necessary construction work too, and it was a great decision. NMS are talented problem solvers and very resourceful. They act with integrity and honesty, and told me if an issue was outside of their realm of expertise, or just didn’t make sense. NMS also achieved excellent functional and aesthetic outcomes in their major renovation works in my house. They were transparent throughout and provided ample photographic and written documentation of the work.. In the end, my home was completely transformed and I was very happy with the work done. Mahmud (Mo) did a structural inspection and report of my home following a surveyors report which indicated complex structural issues. From the beginning, Mo was professional, courteous, and kind. His approach was systematic, clear, and evidently based on a deep understanding of construction and engineering. His educational background is impressive, holding postgraduate degrees in structural engineering and having a broad range of experience in both minor/major civil and commercial engineering projects. He quickly assessed my property, identified the key issues, and formulated a range of solutions. He also quickly produced a clear and concise report. As a lay person, I did not fully appreciate many of the issues affecting my home. Mo however took the time to break down complex issues into simple concepts. He has a real gift for communicating with lay people - this really helped in making major decisions on the property.
I decided to ask Mo to do the necessary construction work too, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. No matter how big the problem, Mo handled things calmly and logically. He is a talented problem solver and thinks in a very logical manner. When an issue was outside of his expertise or when an idea simply didn’t make financial or practical sense, Mo would tell me promptly. From this behaviour I could tell that Mo was an honest man who has a strong sense of integrity - an invaluable trait in a builder/engineer. Furthermore, Mo was very resourceful. If he could not do an excellent job himself, he had plenty of contacts who could. He was also very adaptable and could work well with changing circumstances (or changes of mind!) . Early on it was clear that Mo was passionate about construction/engineering and that he took the standard of his work very seriously. In my home, he achieved excellent functional and aesthetic outcomes. For reference, my home was ~ 100 years old with a concerning survey report. Mo and his team repaired the foundational structure of the home, built drainage into my garden, replaced structurally unsound walls, repointed the house, damp proofed the entire house, plastered walls, re-insulated, re-floored, re-painted (interior/exterior), fitted doors, converted a loft, repaired serious structural issues in the roof, patch repaired the roof, repointed chimney stacks, did extensive electrical and plumbing work, created a new bathroom, fitted this bathroom and refitted the other bathroom, tiled my bathrooms, refitted my kitchen, replaced my porch, tiled my porch, redesigned my back garden patio, etc. He provided ample photographic and written documentation of the work, acquired relevant certificates(e.g GasSafe), and was transparent and highly communicative throughout. He also offered advice throughout (on both functional and aesthetic issues) but always respected my final decisions. In the end, my home was completely transformed and I was very happy with the work done. Furthermore, Mo did the work in a VERY timely manner and kept my costs to a minimum. He clearly cared about keeping to my budget and always kept this at the forefront of his mind when planning.

Mo was great from start to finish. Very responsive and nothing was too much trouble. Went above and beyond, even after his work was done, he was still at hand to help! Highly recommend!

Mo and his team worked with us for a few months. Very hardworking team, easy to work with and clearly a good understanding of structural issues. Also was able to source good contacts for specialities e.g. electrics.

We had what appeared to us a complex issue that other builders were reluctant to take on.
