Building long-term relationships with clients is at the heart of what we do. Many of our clients have been with us since we started, and the majority of our new business comes through word of mouth — which tells us we are doing something right.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The though of starting Metta Accountants came during the Covid-19 pandemic. While the world was shutting down, I saw business owners around me struggling not just with lockdowns and uncertainty, but with accountants who had gone silent on them at the worst possible time. Furlough claims were confusing, grants were being missed, and nobody was picking up the phone.
That is when I did a PDF document with all government schemes and how everyone can avail those schemes. The PDF went across groups and I got a lot of appreciation for my effort and many came to me for professional help too and that is when it all kind of started.
In 2022, I finally left my brillaint job and started my own practice and started with zero clients, zero team, and one belief: that business owners deserve an accountant who genuinely cares about their success not one who just shows up at year end with an invoice.
Four years and 500+ clients later, that belief hasn't changed. The majority of the owner-managed businesses we work with came to us because their previous accountant was reactive, hard to reach, or simply not adding value beyond basic compliance. We do things differently transparent fixed fees, proactive tax planning, a dedicated client portal, and a team that actually answers when you call.
As the practice grew, so did the complexity of the clients we attracted. Today we are specialists in dealing with complex cross-border tax matters, high-income tax planning, and expat taxation areas where specialist knowledge makes a genuine difference to what our clients keep in their pockets.
But at the core, we are still the practice that was built during a pandemic to serve business owners who needed someone in their corner. That is what Metta means and it is what we deliver every day.
