Received a quick response to my request for help with a laptop problem. Although familiar with computers I had a blind spot and couldn't sort out the problem myself. Mark arrived as promised and after a few checks realized the cause was operator error. He quickly explained where I was going wrong and proceeded to check my machine, change a few settings and carry out a few program updates where necessary. Mark was very friendly, knowledgeable and honest. My laptop had an intermittent problem with the fan, he opened it up, cleaned it etc. and advised that he would refund the fee if what he had done did not fix the issue. I was put in touch with Mark at Marks Micros by another one of his customers who had benefited from his services and had recommended him to me. My old Lenovo laptop had stopped working and I was trying to find someone, other than one of the larger local business, who could diagnose the problem and advise of the likely cost of repair. I called Mark and described the nature of the problem and what I had already done in an attempt to rectify it. Mark gave me his frank and honest opinion which was that, in consideration of the age and specifications of the old laptop, the best course of action would be to replace it rather than to invest money in trying to keep it alive. He informed me that, rather than replace the laptop with a brand new model, he had access to a range of previously owned laptops via his relationship with a well renowned manufacturer. I asked him to provide details of specifications, cost, age and what I might expect as to the overall condition of a previously used laptop. I was satisfied with the answers and placed an order. I am absolutely delighted with what was supplied at the cost. From a cosmetic perspective, the laptop is barely distinguishable from new. What inspired you to start your own business?
I always from a young age had some form of entrepreneurial streak. Also helping Dr Reddy run his ENT headlight business (Reddylite) also inspired me to one day have a thriving business of my own. After being self employed going from contract to contract, which can be feast followed by famine, I eventually got the opportunity to take the leap of faith and go for it. It was hand to mouth at first, but slowly and steadily the business became more and more sustainable, and now is thriving and hopefully will continue to grow.

Yes, I can provide remote assistance, provided the customer is not suffering from internet connectivity issues. I have secure remote desktop software (Splashtop Business) which is very much like Teamviewer but much less expensive.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I would sanitize everything I handled and would perform a no-touch collection and return service to customers to minimise risk. Having worked in a Virology Laboratory for 11 years at the start of my working life really prepared me for how to not contaminate or cross contaminate items.
