How long have you been interested in magic?
I became interested in magic from a very young age. I remember watching the Paul Daniel's magic show on Saturday nights and was hooked! I put on my first magic show for my family at the age of 6 much to their delight!
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
My magic is very similar to popular magicians such as Dynamo and David Blaine. I specialise in close-up impromptu style magic utilising anything from playing cards to jewellery (or money!).
I think creating the wow factor is really important for clients/guests so I focus on highly visual magic that always gets a great reaction. Often at big events and weddings people can be slightly distracted so I think it's important to start with a trick that gets a great reaction from the outset to engage the audience.
I also think there is an art to performing magic. A lot of performers focus on comedy too much and it can sometimes come across a bit forced. I really think I have the right balance whether I am performing at a corporate function or at a wedding - being able to tailor your performance is really important.
What do you love most about your job?
Performing magic is great because you get to meet lots of different people and visit some wonderful venues. I'm definitely a 'people person' so this is ideal for me. I also love designing new tricks and watching peoples reactions.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been performing magic for over 15 years now and my first professional booking was when I was 16. The real inspiration for me was watching David Blaine when he first appeared on TV performing his 'street magic' series. I thought it was incredible especially the reactions from everyone as he made the impossible, possible, and made it look so natural.
Why should our clients choose you?
Over the past 15 years I have had the pleasure of performing for some really great companies and people. Throughout this time I have been able to really hone the magic I perform to suit a host of different scenarios from corporate events, weddings to birthday parties. Given my special focus on highly visual 'street style' magic I think what I offer works incredibly well. I hope I have the pleasure to perform for you!
