Working with Lauren was truly one of the most incredible experiences. She is organized, smart, efficient, incredibly thoughtful, and has the most exquisite taste. She brought my vision to life and then some, and was the ultimate “yes woman” - there was never a moment where she made me feel like something wasn’t possible. We worked with Lorna at Lauren Portia Events for coordination on the day of our wedding in London. We wanted someone who would help out on the day as we had done most of our planning but didn’t want to have to sort anything ourselves on the day. I cannot recommend Lorna enough, she was incredible. She was in touch in advance contacting all of our vendors, ensuring that they were aligned with the plans, ironing out any last details and making sure payments had been received. She was on top of the smaller details that we had forgotten and sent useful reminders on items that needed our input. She helped with our timeline which was pretty tight and every element of the day ran to plan due to Lorna. There were some issues at the venue on the morning of the wedding, my husband was very anxious but Lorna found solutions to everything. Lauren planned our Italian wedding from start to finish, she did an amazing job!When we started looking at venues, Lauren was very honest and helpful in advising us against our budget, and what we did and didn’t need, as well as all of the small details that would make the day really special. Lauren planned our three-day wedding weekend in Arles, France for 53 of our closest friends and family. From the very beginning, just under a year before the big day, to the final moments of the weekend, she was nothing short of exceptional. Planning a wedding from another country felt incredibly daunting at first, but from our first call Lauren made the entire experience feel effortless. She handled every single detail with such professionalism, organisation, and care that we were able to genuinely enjoy the planning process.One of the biggest challenges with planning a wedding in France is navigating local vendors, language barriers, and the countless logistical details that most couples would never even think about. Lauren took care of absolutely everything. She communicated with vendors, solved problems before they ever reached us, kept every moving part on schedule, and managed all of the behind-the-scenes logistics with complete confidence. If anything went wrong over the course of the weekend, we genuinely have no idea because she handled it so seamlessly and quietly.What impressed us even more was her ability to keep us calm throughout the entire process. Our wedding weekend took place in temperatures exceeding 30°C, and she was constantly thinking several steps ahead to make sure everyone stayed comfortable. She sourced beautiful paper umbrellas for our ceremony after we completely forgot to order them ourselves, ensured our guests had as much shade as possible throughout the weekend, and even adjusted parts of the day's timeline to work around the heat. These are the kinds of details that couples don't have time (or want) to think about on their big day, but they make such a huge difference to the experience for both you and your guests. We felt completely looked after, and so did everyone attending.The wedding weekend itself was beyond anything we could have dreamed of. Every event flowed perfectly, every detail reflected our vision, and our guests continuously talk about how incredible the entire weekend was. In fact, if the universe had an unlimited number of stars, Lauren would deserve every single one of them! After almost 18 months of planning and flawless coordination on our wedding day, we can honestly say that booking Lauren was one of the BEST decisions we made.Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Lauren was the calm in every storm. She was always composed, organised, professional, warm and reassuring. Whenever we felt the planning stress get to us, all we had to do was have a chat with Lauren and she made everything seem manageable. On the actually wedding day, whenever things got overwhelming, all we had to do was look over at Lauren and we felt that everything was absolutely fine. Seeing how calm and in control she was instantly reminded us that everything was under control. She had it handled.What amazed us most was everything she did behind the scenes. If something needed doing, Lauren simply made it happen. Whether it was solving a last-minute problem, finding a desperately needed item or coordinating suppliers, everything was dealt with so seamlessly that we often didn’t even realise anything untoward had happened until afterwards.One example perfectly sums up her attention to detail. We’d provided red envelopes (ang baos), pens and message cards for our guests, but hadn’t thought about where the completed envelopes would be collected. Without us even asking, Lauren found a beautiful oversized vase for guests to place them in. It’s a small detail, but that’s exactly what makes her exceptional — she notices the things everyone else misses.A huge thank you also goes to her assistant, Lorna, as well as the rest of her team. 🙏Their incredible teamwork allowed us to simply enjoy every moment of our wedding.Lauren also recommended our DJ, Amit, who absolutely smashed it! He was a fantastic MC throughout the day, keeping the energy high while ensuring our guests always knew what was happening next. In the evening, he kept the dance floor packed all night. Lauren is absolutely exceptional. She controlled the entire process of planning from start to finish.Communication - excellent, always available and hyper responsive over text/calls and had a very transparent calendar. Clear communication throughout, advising us on what ideas were good and where improvements could be made.Creativity & Vision - Lauren was able to create the vision (primarily driven by my Bride) with incredible accuracy but also fill the gaps where we lacked the vision and she utilized her wealth of experience in the industry of wedding planning.Organization - Lauren is very, very organized, she utilizes the best technology platforms available to put everything in one place, from seating charts, event space layouts, payment schedules etc.On the day - She's absolutely everywhere, controlling every small detail and capable of making important decisions quickly. Working with Lauren was SO nice. We started the process a year out and were planning a wedding in Tuscany while living in London, so having someone we completely trusted to lean on as well as deal with all the local vendors was just so invaluable. She made the whole planning process feel so much easier and because she was so organised and on top of everything, we could actually relax and enjoy our wedding days to the fullest.Naturally, as first-time planners, we asked Lauren for her opinion a lot, so what I really loved was that she never just told us what to do but instead helped us figure out what felt right for us. Where do I even start!? Lauren was a dream to work with from start to end and I would not hesitate to recommend her as a wedding planner. She listened to what we wanted from our Italian wedding weekend and understood what was important to us as a couple. Her communication was second to none, and she was always at the end of the phone for our many many questions. I can honestly say Lauren took away all of the usual wedding planning stress and I don’t know what we would have done without her. Having her there on the day was an absolute no brainer… our day was everything we wanted and hoped it would be and that was all thanks to Lauren making sure everyone was where they should be at the right time. I was so relieved Lauren was open to helping me for my wedding! As soon as I met her I was instantly put at ease, she had really sensible suggestions/solutions for everything and she was just brilliant. Our wedding wasn't the usual/traditional setting... logistically it involved helping to set up our celebrations in a field, working with a separate team of catering staff Lauren took the lead in ensuring furniture and drinks were all set up perfectly...and liaised with our suppliers including a bubble performer, face painter, ice-cream server whilst ensuring multiple deliveries of pizza's were managed and distributed by the waiting staff.. along with many other small tasks and responsibilities she took on. I'm so grateful she was more than happy to get stuck in, and our wedding day went so smoothly and perfectly! I could really switch off and just enjoy myself. Lauren was amazing to work with. We had done all the wedding planning ourselves and realised it was just too overwhelming and stressed. Lauren came in and understood both our mindsets from the beginning. She was incredibly polite and friendly and really understanding of our goals for our wedding. She made sure she had contingency plans for every little aspect and we both felt we could enjoy our wedding because Lauren was dealing with the schedule and plans. Lauren is an outstanding wedding planner. From the very beginning she helped us find the venue, choose our wedding style and get organised. She has been pleasant, professional and helpful throughout the wedding planning, we could not have asked for a better planner and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the planning process. Due to her help, we have managed to have our dream wedding, include everything we could possibly want, yet staying within our budget.
