Dog Training

We contacted Kerry to help with our 18 month old Australian Labradoodle who was reactive to (what felt like) everything that moved! The progress has been amazing, Kerry is very patient and so knowledgeable and has been such a great help. We no longer dread taking the dog out and it is so much clearer what works for our dog when out and about and what he doesn’t like. Can’t recommend Kerry enough! More...

Dog Training

We contacted Kerry to help us with our 4 month old cockapoo Astro who was biting when over aroused. She has helped us so much, giving us ways to help him by giving him a safe space to calm down. She also suggested we work on his impulse control and his behaviour is so much better since training started. She sent videos and notes on what we gad worked on in our sessions and kept in touch inn between sessions allowing us to ask for further guidance if required. She also sent us brilliant suggestions for leashes, harnesses and toys.
Astro has become calmer and his overall arousal episodes have reduced to almost none. She was so patient and gave great advice changing the techniques to suit my dog who is not treat motivated but play motivated. Thanks so much for all your help.

We have a beautiful Lab cross called Anesi and she’s now almost 7 months old. I’m an experienced dog owner. However I have never had a dog as boisterous or hyper as Anesi. She was , to put it bluntly , a maniac . She needed relentless attention , she couldn’t even just be sitting in your company , she had to be on you and pawing at you and needed to have your hands on her and petting her constantly . We had outbursts of zooming , constant jumping up with her huge feet , which was leaving serious scratches on both me and my 6 year old . I felt like she was always having to be put in her room to calm down . She treated my daughter like a toy and would pull at her clothes and jump on her . We love her but wanted her to be the best version of herself and not so stressful to the entire household . Fast forward to 8-10 weeks with Kerry’s training and plans , I actually can’t believe it’s the same dog . Diet changes , mental stimulation , basic obedience, she’s so much calmer , she’s happier , she loves her training . Simple things like she can now come and lie on my bed without constantly having to be put off for mouthing / pawing / scratching / being hyper. It’s amazing ! I never thought this would be possible . She is barely in time out anymore , she has the run of the house and I can trust her not to be destructive . It’s amazing !! Thank you so much Kerry ! Best money I’ve ever spent ! More...

We now can enjoy sleeping through the night and both feel much more confident in what we are doing with our furry best friend! Thank you again Kerry! More...

Kerry helped put my mind at ease so much when I introduced a second pup into my household. She gave great advice that helped keep both dogs feeling safe, secure and mentally enriched during meal times and I have now just enrolled both dogs on Kerry's basic obedience training. I would recommend her services.

Q&As

Working with dogs and their owners is more than a career for me — it’s something I genuinely love. After more than 14 years in the industry, including eight years as the Lead Dog Trainer for a charity training assistance dogs, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful the bond between a dog and their person can be. Helping people strengthen that bond is the best part of what I do.

I love watching dogs grow in confidence, learn to make good choices, and begin to understand the world around them. I love seeing owners realise that training isn’t about control — it’s about communication, trust, and teamwork. My approach is choice‑based, science‑backed, and reward‑focused, and nothing makes me happier than seeing both ends of the lead working together and enjoying the process.

Every dog is different. Every owner is different. And that’s what makes this job so special. No two days are the same, and every session gives me the chance to support a new partnership, solve a new puzzle, and celebrate new progress.

Being able to guide people, empower them with knowledge, and help their dogs thrive is something I never take for granted. It’s a privilege — and it’s why I love what I do.

What Inspired Me to Become a Dog Trainer
My journey into dog training began back in 2014, after watching a TV programme about a dog rescue centre. One particular dog stood out — he was labelled aggressive, misunderstood, and difficult to place. But through patient rehabilitation, choice‑based training, and the right support, he transformed. Not only did he overcome his challenges, he went on to become an assistance dog, changing someone’s life forever.

Seeing that transformation lit a spark in me. It showed me what dogs are capable of when we listen to them, understand them, and give them the chance to succeed. That moment inspired me to retrain as a dog trainer, and I’ve never looked back.

Since then, I’ve achieved my goal of becoming an Assistance Dog trainer i am now the Lead Dog Trainer for a charity for over eight years. I now run my own business — Kerry’s K9 Connections — offering 1‑to‑1 dog training and dog walking, especially for dogs who are nervous, overwhelmed, or unable to cope in busy class environments.

My passion has always been helping dogs who need a gentler, more personalised approach. The dogs who struggle. The dogs who worry. The dogs who need someone to meet them where they are. And the owners who want to understand them better.

That TV programme didn’t just inspire me — it shaped the trainer I am today.

Choosing the right trainer matters — especially if your dog is nervous, overwhelmed, or needs a more personalised approach. What sets me apart is how deeply I care about getting the training right for both the dog and the owner.

I use choice‑based, science‑backed, reward‑focused training, adapting techniques to suit each individual dog and their unique needs. No dog is the same, so no training plan should be either. I take everything at your dog’s pace, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and able to learn without pressure.

I work with both ends of the lead, helping owners understand how their dog thinks, feels, and communicates. My goal is to empower you with clear guidance, practical tools, and confidence — so you and your dog can thrive together.

To make training as accessible and stress‑free as possible, I offer online services for owners who prefer remote support or cannot attend in person. This allows you to learn at home, revisit guidance, and receive structured help wherever you are.

For in‑person training, I provide 1‑to‑1 sessions where I travel to you, offering convenience and a calm environment for dogs who struggle in busy class settings. You also receive continued support between sessions, so you’re never left on your own — whether you need reassurance, advice, or help troubleshooting something new.

With me, you’re not just getting a trainer — you’re getting someone who listens, understands, and genuinely cares about helping your dog succeed.

Yes my 1-2–1 6 week foundation course can be carried out online which has proven very sucessful with new puppy owners as the dogs are more focused learning in their own enviorment giving the skills to progress outside.

Socal distancing at all times providing services online
