We are so glad that we chose Julie as our photographer. Julie captured our elopement ceremony at Storrs Hall beautifully.All communication from first approaching Julie was so clear, and made the booking process feel very straightforward . It’s clear that Julie can accommodate all kinds of couples and their varying approaches to their wedding photography. It was great to have the opportunity to explain in the questionnaire beforehand our wedding ‘vibe’. But equally it felt like it didn’t matter whether we had a clear vision of what we had in mind, or if we just wanted to ‘wing it’ on the day. Julie referred to the few ideas we had sent via the questionnaire, but mostly relied upon her extensive experience photographing the venue, and expertise to patiently direct ourselves and our guests for the majority of the coverage.It is very clear how familiar Julie was with our venue, as she knew all the best spots to capture the our couple shots. We are so happy with the amount of locations we covered in such a short space of time to really make the most of our beautiful venue and stunning scenery. Julie was so efficient, but didn’t make us feel rushed.Julie is also great at making any guests feel at ease. Though we only had a small elopement it was important to us that our photographer captured a balance of pictures with our guests, as well as our couple portraits. Julie made those who were a little more reluctant to join in with posing for photos feel at ease. Although I hadn't met Julie before the wedding, I felt immediately at ease with her. We had spoken on the phone and I already felt relaxed about her approach to her work. She said her focus was on capturing the details of the day in a documentary fashion, which is what I myself try to do at family occasions. She also said she wasn't there to create fantastic pictures for social media. I am in my mid-60s so the pressure to look glamorous for the wedding had been really hard to deal with. I've now seen some of Julie's photos of the day, and I can say she's really made the most of me. The groom and all the other guests look great too! From the moment we met her, she made us feel completely relaxed and comfortable, and she captured our day at Briery Wood in the Lake District so beautifully. I honestly can’t recommend Julia highly enough.I got in touch with her to photograph a surprise proposal at Lake Windermere, and from day one she was brilliant. She didn’t just turn up with a camera and take photos. She helped me plan pretty much the entire thing.Before the proposal, she went out and checked the location herself, then sent me photos and videos showing exactly where to go and what everything looked like. As someone trying to organise a surprise proposal, that level of help took a huge amount of stress off my shoulders.On the day, she was there early, making sure everything was ready and helping things run smoothly. She genuinely cared about getting it right and making the moment as special as possible.She was also fantastic with our little boy and made sure to get loads of great photos of him as well. Some of our favourite pictures from the day are actually of him.What impressed me most was that her help didn’t stop once the proposal was over. She gave us recommendations for things to do around Windermere, sent links for boat hire on the lake, and helped us make the most of the whole day.The photos are incredible, which is what you’d expect when hiring a professional photographer. If I could leave more than five stars, I would.Julie was an absolute dream from start to finish. Not only are the photos beautiful, but she genuinely played such a special part in one of the most important days of our lives. So beyond grateful we found Julie and had her photograph both our welcome party celebrations and our wedding day. Having her around on both days was a pleasure, our family and friends completely agree too. She worked so so well alongside our venue, Holbeck Ghyll and the other suppliers on both days and captured the most amazing photos. We have cried so many happy tears even just at our previews, she really captures all the emotions so well alongside details of the days we often didn’t even notice. Julie photographed our wedding in September '25 and we are over the moon with our photos and the service she has provided. Her photography style is so classy and elegant. I was worried that there wouldn't be much to photograph as we had a micro wedding but for the 2/3 hours we had Julie with us on the day she captured so many beautiful, funny and special moments that we will treasure. Julie has the perfect personality to be a wedding photographer and was so helpful even in the first few minutes of meeting her as I was finishing my makeup / putting my dress on in a rush! When my husband and I first met Julie for an introductory chat we were immediately put at ease and warmed to her, knowing that she would be able to capture our wedding in the the relaxed and natural way we were looking for. And WOW did she deliver on this! We decided to book Julie for an engagement shoot primaily to get used to being in front of the camera but also to get some photos for our invites etc. We spent the afternoon walking around Grizedale forest taking photos, feeling more like we were on a walk with an old friend than on an engagement shoot. The photos we got from this were absolutely stunning and were used throughout all of our wedding stationery, as well as being firm favourites on the wall of our home. We would definitely recommend booking Julie for this extra, it was well worth it for us and the photos will be treasured forever. When it came to the wedding, Julie was very communicative and organised. We met with her at the venue the day before to do a walkthrough of plans and have a chat, putting our minds further at rest that all of our dream shots would be captured. Julie came to my parents' home the morning of the wedding to get some getting ready shots, and then headed off to the venue to get some pictures of my husband and his groomsmen before the ceremony. Throughout the day Julie was fun to be around, knew the best moments to take a few pictures, and helped guide us through the day as a whole. What can I say! I am absolutely blown away by Julie's talents, she captured our wedding BEAUTIFULLY and really saw the vision that we were going for - fun, relaxed, beautiful, emotional and personal to us. She took us down to do a photo shoot at a beautiful spot on the lake and it was one of the best parts of our day, so much fun, but she knew how to make it efficient so we didn't lose much time with our guests. I absolutely love all of our group shots and candid photos of both us and the guests. We had a large wedding and I don't know how she managed to capture everything as just one woman, she just knew exactly where to be and when. Myself and my other half where very nervous when looking for a wedding photographer.
