I would not recommend staying here on a weekend if you value a good night’s sleep. Our room’s windows overlooked an alleyway, and there was constant noise from drunken people talking, shouting, and lingering outside until around 12:30 a. m. At one point, a motorcycle even came through the alley. If you have an early flight or need to be up early, be prepared for a very difficult night of sleep.Another frustrating issue was the lack of staff availability. The hotel is closed from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. I waited until approximately 9:30 a.m. to check out, but there were still no employees available downstairs. This was especially inconvenient because guests must navigate multiple flights of stairs with their luggage. After waiting, I ended up carrying my luggage back upstairs and exiting through the rear of the building.Unfortunately, between the excessive late-night noise and the lack of staff assistance, this was not a positive experience. Went in for a quiet drink with a friend on Monday evening. There was a group of loud, rowdy men sitting at the bar who had a dog with them. The dog itself was fine and the owner was apologetic when it came over to us , but things quickly turned unpleasant.|When we acknowledged the dog and said how lovely it was, one of the group shouted across to us that the dog was "sniffing around you because you smell of s**t." This was said loudly, in front of other customers and directly in front of the bar staff member who was serving at the time.|The staff member said absolutely nothing. No acknowledgement, no word to the group, nothing. We felt we had no option but to take our drinks and move away from the bar to a table.|To make matters worse, the same group then proceeded to vape openly at the bar, blowing clouds of vapour around , again, directly in front of the same member of staff, who again did nothing. Indoor vaping is prohibited in licensed premises in England, so this isn't just a matter of atmosphere it's a legal issue the pub has an obligation to enforce.|We left earlier than planned. It's a shame because it could be a decent local, but if staff stand by while customers are openly insulted and licensing laws are ignored, there's really no reason to return. More...

Went to the White Swan pub for a meal with my wife and friends tonight.|I ordered sausage and mash with red onion gravy and peas. My wife ordered fish and chips.|The food was the most disgusting I have ever been served up. Everything about it was terrible. Great location for a day in Henley in Arden, central to everything. We stayed here as part of a regular ladies meet up and the choice in this area was limited. It was very quiet when we arrived, but being an exceptionally nice sunny day that soon changed. When we returned in the evening it was busy and buzzing, friendly atmosphere and staff. The room was adequate for my needs, however it looks like it needs an upgrade! Bed comfy, pillows horrible, shower cubicle tiling dirty and needs re-grouting. However, shower was very good! Everything you needed was provided and I needed there fan, my room in the eaves was hot. As an older lady I found the metal staircase (you had to use fire escape out of pub hours) a little steep. Its a shame an alternative exit couldnt be organised. All in all a nice place for the price. They should get someone to proof read their marketing material. Just been to white swan Henley in Arden, didn’t get off to a good start, no fish n chips , so opted for sausage n mash.Only saw our server twice once to take order and to serve food, which was pretty good, otherwise the staff are more interested in looking at their phones checking if make up is ok, if I was the manager I would employ staff who were pleasant and professional, instead of young girls who are only interested in how they look in the mirror, we couldn’t have a dessert or coffee even if we wanted one because they are only interested in talking to the young guys that were in the bar. It’s a shame really because we remember it when they had more staff who were there to look after the diners.Still won’t be going again I would rather give my money to someone who deserves it, and get proper service. Myself and my partner have been to the swan hotel several times and really enjoy are staying the rooms are lovely and will be returning soon the only problem is we were really disappointed with the meal we had in the restaurant it was cold the vegetables were raw and the meat was really salty there was one one we could tell as they were all working in the bar as it was busy apart from that it'sa lovely hotel

Staff were really helpful on arrival and the room was great with lots of character. The pub has a great atmosphere, real fire, dogs welcome but is loud, so some might not like that. We did. The staff are noisy closing up at the end of the night, probably happy to be going home. So if you do go to bed earlier it will wake you up.
