My rescue dog Nigel loves his walks with Megan and the pack every week! I was worried about him off lead as his recall is hit and miss but Hound Crew have been great and make sure all the dogs have trackers as extra security. Nigels recall is already improving and I love seeing the pictures and videos of him and his pals on their adventures. We had previously given Hound Crew 5 stars, but we're changing this to 2 stars after our recent experience. Context: we've been with Hound Crew for about 2 years. Historically the service has been very good: the pickups and drop offs were consistent and our dog seemed to have a great time. However, in the last few months, the walk timings have gotten all over the place (either super short or super long), so I got curious. Our dog has a tracker on her, so I started checking her location every so often to see how her walk was progressing. It turns out that our dog was spending 2.5hrs in the van going back and forth across London and then only 40mins in the actual walk (when Hound Crew's initial email service description was '90mins rain or shine'). When I initially noticed that the timings were off, I asked Jana how long the walk should be and she responded 'walks are actually up to 90mins long'. The addition of 'up to' was a surprise to me, because it was different from the initial commitment. I asked Jana to communicate if walks needed to be shorter which she agreed to. After gathering data, we asked the dog walker (Thiago) how long our dog was spending in the van vs in the walk and he said '90mins in the walk and 45mins in the van'. We knew this wasn't true. We then complained to Jana. The response was that they wouldn't walk our dog anymore because we were outside of their route and that was adding a lot of time (40mins). Not only are we not outside of their route: from the data we gathered, they pick up our dog, then go to a bunch of places before returning to our neighbourhood (very close to us) before heading to the park for a walk. Jana reported concerns about the street (ie. people complained when Hound Crew left the van in the middle of the street interrupting traffic), but other daycare services have no issues picking up dogs from our street. Above all, we were disappointed by the lack of transparency about walk durations and by how the reaction to our complaint is to drop our dog walks, when we've been a reliable customer for 2 years. In addition, Hound Crew never really explained the 2.5hrs in the van, so we feel there's stuff that doesn't add up. More...

What do you love most about your job?
Being a professional dog walker means I get to spend my days in a wonderful company of unpretentious creatures who know how to leverage every little moment in life. I help them understand our human world so they fit into our society, yet remain true to their species.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My dog Carlos. He was a handful. So, I thought. Only with years to come did I realise, he was just being a wonderful dog and I misunderstood him completely. He became my teacher and my soulmate. I absolutely love learning all about dog psychology, natural rearing and human-canine communication, not only from books but mainly from being present in the moment with dogs and watching them just like they watch us.
Why should our clients choose you?
Our goal is to bring the best out of each dog we work with, by letting them exercise learn socialize and play in a structured and thoughtful way. Just like you, we want them to be happy healthy and well-rounded companions.
If your dog has poor recall skills, don’t worry, we will teach them to come when called using our long training lines and we also provide gps trackers to guarantee their safety. Once their recall is reliable while then the training lines are removed and the dogs are free to play with their pack mates.
We also teach them important life skills such as wait, respect others’ personal space, stay, No, Yes.
Walks are structured to challenge the dogs both physically and mentally, whilst respecting the limitations of their age, breed and health.
Our relationship with dogs is built on mutual trust, respect, calmness and love.
With every walk, the dogs are receiving exercise, structure, socialization, lots of fun and affection. We always strive to leave the dogs calm and happy, so when you get home you'll find a well-balanced and fulfilled dog.

Unfortunately, not. However, I do cover all these areas: Hackney, Hackney Wicks, Hackney Marshes, Clapton, Dalston, Finsbury Park, Highbury, Homerton, Manor House, Stamford Hill and Stoke Newington.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Our initial consultation, as well as pick up and drop off are conducted following all the government rules:
We meet you and your dog outside.
We wear a mask and maintain social distance.
We use hand sanitiser regularly throughout the day.
Dog walking
Hound Crew offers a 2 hour-long group dog walks. Your dog will learn to become a well-rounded companion on and off-leash. A dog to be proud of, who trusts and respects their humans, comes when called and walks calmly on a loose lead. Dogs are highly social creatures and thrive on living in a pack of other like-minded hounds, therefore guided socialisation and playtime are on our daily menu.
