What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about this job is the moment a customer sees their home looking like new again. Whether it's a roof clear of moss, sparkling white fascias or a driveway restored after years of neglect — that reaction makes every job worthwhile.
I started GuttVac in 2018 because I wanted to do things properly. No shortcuts, no franchise rulebook, no stranger turning up at your door. Just me, Robert, doing every job personally and taking real pride in the result.
Northampton is my home and looking after the homes of my neighbours and community is something I genuinely care about. That's what GuttVac is built on.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started GuttVac because I wanted to build something of my own — a business built on doing things the right way, not the franchise way. I'd seen too many trades where the customer deals with a call centre, a stranger turns up, and nobody really takes ownership of the work. I wanted to be different.
If I'm honest, the real inspiration was my daughter. I started GuttVac to earn enough to get her into full time nursery — and from that small beginning, it's grown into something I'm genuinely proud of. She still motivates me every single day.
When you book GuttVac, you get me — from the first call to the final tidy up. That personal accountability is something I'll never compromise on.
Why should our clients choose you?
Q: Do you need to be home ?
A: The answer is no as long as there is access to all your gutters for the gutter cleaning to take place. If you have a power socket outside thats ok, if not i will use a generator for your gutter cleaning.
Before and after pictures will be taken and will be emailed to you and your invoice left at your property.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
While our exterior cleaning services are carried out on-site at your property, we make the process as convenient as possible remotely. Free quotes are available by phone, WhatsApp or email without the need for a site visit in most cases. You can also book directly online at guttvac.co.uk. We'll confirm all details, pricing and scheduling remotely before we arrive — so the only time we need to be on-site is when we're actually doing the work.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
COVID-19 UPDATE. There is totally no need for any contact as long as there is full access to the property it will be fine.
Masks and gloves are worn if entry to the rear is only through the property as long as you are happy with that.
Any gates etc that need opening they will be wiped down afterwards once finished.
Payments can be made by bank transfer or cash left somewhere safe.
